A method for managing data transmission between computing devices is disclosed. In one embodiment, the method includes monitoring a plurality of parameters of a computer network that includes a server and a client. The plurality of parameters may include a client resource parameter, a server resource parameter, and a network operating parameter. The disclosed method may also include automatically determining a desired compression level at which to send data to the client based at least in part on the client resource parameter, the server resource parameter, and the network operating parameter. Further, in one embodiment the method may include communicating the data from the server to the client at the desired compression level in response to a client request for the data. Various other methods, systems, and manufactures are also disclosed.

Network data transmission method and system

A system and a method for generating a digital image indicative of an internal anatomy of a person over a respiratory cycle are provided. The method includes scanning the internal anatomy of the person at a plurality of positions along an axis to obtain scanning data, wherein the scanning at each position is performed over at least one respiratory cycle of the person. The method further includes generating a plurality of cross-sectional digital images based on the scanning data. The method further includes generating a plurality of cross-sectional digital image groups, each group comprising at least two digital images of the plurality of cross-sectional digital images wherein each of the two digital images indicate the internal anatomy at a substantially similar respiratory state. The method further includes generating a plurality of 3-D digital images, wherein each digital image of the plurality of 3-D digital images is determined from a corresponding one of the plurality of cross-sectional digital image groups. Finally, the method includes processing the plurality of 3-D digital images to obtain a resultant 3-D digital image indicating positions of at least a portion of the internal anatomy of the person during at least the respiratory cycle.

A computer-implemented method for quantifying an object in a larger structure using a reconstructed image obtained from an imaging apparatus includes identifying an object boundary in a region of interest of the image and a region of exclusion, and determining a mean value of intensity in a neighborhood of the object to estimate a background value, excluding the region of exclusion. The method further includes determining an interior region, a transition region, and a background region of the object using the object boundary and a transfer function of the imaging apparatus, and determining and displaying a measure of object quantification utilizing intensities of at least one of the determined interior region or the transition region a method for quantifying an object in a larger structure using a reconstructed image obtained from an imaging apparatus.

The method includes scanning a patient to obtain projection data, generating images from the projection data, generating a signal representing information regarding a physiological cycle of an object within the patient, specifying at least one target phase based on which the images can be sorted, and sorting the images based on the target phase within a cycle of motion of the object to generate at least one series of images.

Systems and methods for improving usability of images for medical applications

A method for displaying axial images that comprises receiving a reconstructed axial image. The reconstructed axial image includes a pre-selected number of completed reconstructed slices, a slice thickness and an interval value. A reformatted axial image is created in response to the reconstructed axial image. The creation of a reformatted axial image includes modifying the slice thickness in response to user slice thickness input and updating the interval value in response to user interval value input. The reformatted axial image is displayed in response to user display input.

Method, system and computer product for displaying axial images

A review and analyze protocol is described. The protocol comprises the steps of performing a patient scan to collect scan data to be used in generating an image, performing at least one of a single exam review and a dual exam review of images generated using the scan data, and analyzing an area of interest identified in performing the exam review.
