An electrical switching element includes a housing, an armature moved by a coil arrangement, a contact arrangement switchable by the armature into at least two switching statuses, and a magnetic field sensor outputting a magnetic field-dependent switching signal representing the switching statuses. The armature, the contact arrangement, and the magnetic field sensor are arranged in the housing. The armature is arranged between the contact arrangement and the magnetic field sensor.

A double breaker switch comprises a contact bridge connected to an actuator at a connection point, a first fixed contact, and a second fixed contact. The contact bridge includes a first bridge contact connected to the connection point by a first arm and a second bridge contact connected to the connection point by a second arm. The second arm is longer than the first arm. The first bridge contact electrically connects with the first fixed contact at a first contact point in a closed state of the double breaker switch. The second bridge contact electrically connects with the second fixed contact at a second contact point and a third contact point in the closed state of the double breaker switch.

The invention further relates to a method for switching a load circuit, in particular in an electric vehicle, at least one switch contact being moved from an open position into a closed position and thereby being brought into electrically conductive contact with a counter-contact. In order to provide the most compact, light, cost-effective and reliable switching and separation unit for load currents, it is provided according to the invention that, in a safety position, the at least one switch contact is held separated from the counter-contact in order to protect the load circuit.

The invention relates to a line protection switch () for protecting an electrical load circuit from an over-current which exceeds a permissible load current. In order to provide a structurally simple, compact and rapidly actuating line protection switch, it is provided with a switching member () which can be moved from an operating position into a protection position. Contact elements (A,C) of the line protection switch () which can be connected to the load circuit are closed in the operating position and opened in the protection position. The line protection switch () according to the invention further has a retention member () which produces a magnetic retention field (MH) which is independent of the load current and by means of which the switching member () is retained in the operating position, and a counter-force member () which is independent of the load current and by means of which the switching member () is retained in the protection position. There is further provided an actuation member () which can be moved with the switching member () and through which load current flows in the operating position and which produces a magnetic actuation field (MA) which is dependent on the load current and which is superimposed on the magnetic retention field (MH).

Line protection switch

A method for sealing a housing includes providing a base plate of the housing with at least one opening; providing an electrical connection that extends through the base plate from an inner side to an outer side of the base plate; and applying a sealing compound into the opening from an outer side of the base plate in order to seal an interface between the base plate and the electrical connection.
