A liquid crystal display includes first and second pixel electrodes, first to fourth data lines, and a first gate line. The first pixel electrode has separated first primary and secondary sub-pixel electrodes. The second pixel electrode has separated second primary and secondary sub-pixel electrodes. The first data line is coupled to the first secondary sub-pixel electrode and covered by the first pixel electrode. The second data line is coupled to the first primary sub-pixel electrode and covered by the second pixel electrode. The third data line is coupled to the second primary sub-pixel electrode and covered by the second pixel electrode. The fourth data line is coupled to the second secondary sub-pixel electrode. The first gate line is coupled to the first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode.

A PSA LCD panel includes a plurality of pixel units. Each of the pixel units includes a first pixel electrode and a second pixel electrode separated from the first pixel electrode. Each of the first and second pixel electrodes has a pattern scattered from a center in such a manner to form four domains.

A pixel structure electrically connected to a data line and a scan line, and including a first and a second active device, a first and a second pixel electrode, and a first and a second capacitance electrode is provided. The first pixel electrode electrically connected to the first active device includes a first and a second electrode block electrically connected to each other. The second pixel electrode electrically connected to the second active device is electrically insulated from the first pixel electrode and separates the first and the second electrode block. The first pixel electrode respectively forms a first and a second capacitor with the first and the second capacitance electrode. Pixel array structure

A method for driving a pixel is provided. The method includes determining a first predetermined gray-level and a second predetermined gray-level which are corresponding to a target gray-level according to the target gray-level of the pixel, wherein an equivalent gray-level corresponding to the first predetermined gray-level and the second predetermined gray-level is equal to the target gray-level, thereafter, generating a first driving voltage and a second driving voltage according to the first predetermined gray-level and the second predetermined gray-level for respectively driving a first sub-pixel and a second sub-pixel within the pixel during a frame period. The first driving voltage is greater than the second driving voltage when the equivalent gray-level is small than a first setting gray-level; the first driving voltage is small than the second driving voltage when the equivalent gray-level is greater than the first setting gray-level.

Method for driving pixel

A pixel structure of liquid crystal display including a first and a second sub-pixel electrodes, a first and a second data lines, a gate line, and a first and a second transistors is provided. The first and the second sub-pixel electrodes disposed in the first and second sub-pixel areas respectively include at least two display domains at left and right. The first data line is disposed under the interface between two domains of each of the first and second sub-pixel electrodes, and the second data line is disposed under the edges of the first and second sub-pixel electrodes. The gate line is disposed between the first and second sub-pixel areas. The first sub-pixel electrode is controlled by the gate line and the first data line through the first transistor. The second sub-pixel electrode is controlled by the gate line and the second data line through the second transistor.

An LCD panel including scan lines, data lines, first common lines, second common lines and pixels electrically connected to the scan lines and the data lines is provided. Each pixel has a first display region and a pair of second display regions when the pixels are driven. The first display region and the pair of the second display regions of each pixel are coupled by the first common lines and the second common lines, respectively so as to display different levels of brightness. Besides, the first display region and the second display regions of each pixel are aligned in a column direction, and the first display region of each pixel is disposed between the pair of the second display regions.

Liquid crystal display and driving method thereof

A pixel structure and a method for generating drive voltages in the pixel structure are disclosed. The pixel structure comprises a first sub-pixel electrode, a first com-line, and second com-line. The first sub-pixel electrode is applied with a first drive voltage. The first com-line transmits a first com-voltage signal. The second com-line transmits a second com-voltage signal. The first drive voltage is derived by combining the first com-voltage signal and the second com-voltage signal.

Pixel structure and method for generating drive voltages in the same

A liquid crystal display (LCD) including an LCD panel, a gate driver and a data driver is provided. The LCD panel has pixel units, scan lines and several pairs of data lines. Each of the pixel units is electrically connected to a corresponding scan line and a corresponding pair of data lines and has two display regions respectively connected to different data lines. Besides, the gate driver is electrically connected to several scan lines. The data driver is electrically connected to several pairs of data lines. The data driver has a voltage difference generator electrically connected to several pairs of data lines such that the voltages outputted by the pair of data lines are maintained at a fixed voltage difference. Thus, the invention simplifies the complexity of circuit signal processing and lowers the production cost of circuits.

Liquid crystal display

An active device array substrate including a plurality of scan lines, data lines and pixel units is provided. The pixel units are connected to the scan lines and data lines correspondingly, and each pixel unit includes a first active device, a second active device, a first pixel electrode, and a second pixel electrode. The first active device has a first gate, a first source connected to one of the data lines, and a first drain. The second active device has a second gate, a second source, and a second drain, wherein the first and the second gates are connected to the same scan line. The first and the second pixel electrodes are connected to the first drain and the second drain, respectively. The second source of each pixel unit is connected to the first pixel electrode of an adjacent pixel unit controlled by the next scan line.
