A method for evaluating radio performance of a device under test (DUT) comprises the following steps. A first set of points, a second set of points and a third set of points are defined to locate on a sphere surrounding the DUT. A signal power of the DUT is evaluated at the first set of points to identify a first region related to the first set of points. Candidates of the second set of points are selected based on the first region. The signal power of the DUT is evaluated at the candidates of the second set of points to identify a second region related to the second set of points. Candidates of the third set of points are selected based on the second region. The signal power of the DUT is evaluated at the candidates of the third set of points to identify a beam peak.

Method and system for evaluating radio performance

A testing method for determining radiation performance of a device under test (DUT) is disclosed. The testing method comprises the following steps. The DUT is arranged at a first orientation. A first effective isotropic radiated power (EIRP) and a first effective isotropic sensitivity (EIS) of the DUT are measured at the first orientation. The DUT is arranged at a second orientation different from the first orientation, and a second EIRP of the DUT is measured at the second orientation. A second EIS of the DUT is measured at the second orientation according to a correlation between the first EIRP, the first EIS and the second EIRP.

Testing method and testing system for evaluating radio device

Various examples and schemes pertaining to a closed-loop antenna with multiple grounding points are described. An apparatus includes an electromagnetic (EM) wave interface device capable of radiating and sensing EM waves. The EM wave interface device includes a feeding port, a first grounding port coupled to an electric ground, and a second grounding port coupled to the electric ground. A first electrically-conductive path connected between the feeding port and the first grounding port forms a closed-loop antenna. A second electrically-conductive path connected between the feeding port and the second grounding port forms a non-radiative closed-loop path. A length of the first electrically-conductive path is greater than a length of the second electrically-conductive path.

The invention is directed to a communication device. The communication device includes a millimeter-wave antenna array and an appearance metal element. The appearance metal element has an antenna window. The millimeter-wave antenna array is configured to transmit or receive a wireless signal. The wireless signal is transferred through the antenna window of the appearance metal element.

An antenna system includes an antenna, a first frequency dividing circuit, a second frequency dividing circuit, and a plurality of matching circuits. The first frequency dividing circuit is coupled to the antenna. The matching circuits are coupled to the first frequency dividing circuit. A mobile communication device for operating in LTE and WWAN bands is provided in the invention. The mobile communication device includes a system circuit board and an antenna. The system circuit board includes a system ground plane. The antenna includes: an antenna substrate, substantially parallel to the system ground plane; a first radiation element, disposed on the antenna substrate; a second radiation element, disposed on the antenna substrate; an antenna ground plane, disposed on the antenna substrate, and coupled to the system ground plane; and a transmission line, disposed on the antenna substrate, coupled to the first and second radiation elements, and having a feed point. The mobile communication device is further configured to accommodate a data transmission component.

A wireless communications circuit includes: a transceiver; a power amplifier module including a plurality of power amplifiers coupled to the transceiver; a filter module, including a plurality of filters coupled to the power amplifier module; an antenna switching module coupled between the filter module and an antenna; a tunable matching network coupled between the antenna and the antenna switching module; and a baseband circuit coupled to the tunable matching network. The baseband circuit is used for generating a control signal to the tunable matching network to adjust an impedance of the tunable matching network, wherein the impedance of the tunable matching network is adjusted to be different values under different operating conditions of the wireless communications circuit.

A communication device includes a system circuit board, a ground plane, a first antenna, a second antenna, a first metal element, and a second metal element. The ground plane is disposed on the system circuit board. The first metal element is substantially located between the first antenna and the second antenna. The first metal element is coupled to the ground plane such that a system ground plane is formed. The second metal element is adjacent to the first metal element and substantially located between the first antenna and the second antenna. The second metal element is coupled to the system ground plane. The first antenna, the second antenna, and the first metal element are substantially located at an edge of the system circuit board.

Communication device and antennas with high isolation characteristics

A multiband antenna for a communication device is disclosed. The multiband antenna comprises a dielectric substrate, a ground portion, and a radiating metal portion. The dielectric substrate comprises two surfaces. The ground portion comprises a first ground plane, a second ground plane, and a connecting metal strip. The first ground plane is on one of the surfaces of the dielectric substrate and has a first connecting point and a shorting point. The second ground plane is near the first ground plane and has a second connecting point. At least one part of the connecting metal strip is on one surface of the dielectric substrate. The connecting metal strip has one end connected to the first connecting point and the other end connected to the second connecting point. The radiating metal portion is connected to the dielectric substrate, without overlapping the first ground plane. The radiating metal portion comprises a radiating section having one end connected to the shorting point and the other end as an open end; and a feeding section having one end connected to a signal source and the other end as an open end, wherein the open end of the feeding section has a spacing of less than 3 mm to the radiating portion.
