A method and system are used to enhance a marker material to include a plurality of air bubbles. The method of manufacturing a marker includes enhancing a marker material to include a plurality of air bubbles using at least a first EFD and a second EFD. The method may include cycling repeatedly through a transfer process between a first container and a second container. A system for enhancing a marker material includes a transfer apparatus configured to receive a marker material and a selected amount of air. The system comprises a first EFD coupled to a first end of the transfer apparatus and a second EFD coupled to a second end of the transfer apparatus.

Marker having enhanced ultrasound visibility and method of manufacturing the same

A marker delivery device comprises a marker deployer cannula, a push rod, a biopsy site marker, and a ramped tip. The marker deployer cannula may have a marker exit in communication with an interior lumen of the cannula. The marker exit may comprise a distal end with a ramped surface. The biopsy site marker may be configured with a plurality of edges. The plurality of edges may be configured to engage at least a portion of the interior lumen of the cannula. The ramped tip may comprise a first ramped surface and a second ramped surface, the second ramped surface may align with the ramped surface of the distal end of the marker exit. The push rod may be used to push the biopsy site marker up the ramped tip and through the marker exit.

Various exemplary surgical tool wrists are provided. In general, a surgical tool can include an elongate shaft and a wrist that couples an end effector to a distal end of the shaft. The surgical tool can include multiple elongate members configured to move, either individually or as a group of two or more of the elongate members, to cause movement of the end effector relative to the shaft. Each of the surgical tool's elongate members can be configured to extend along a helical path. Each of the elongate members can extend proximally from its associated helical path to a pulley at the wrist. The helical paths can be configured to guide the elongate members to approach and engage their respective pulleys at a substantially zero angle.
