A control system for at least a pair of motor powered rail vehicles coupled together in a model train railroad includes a controller, a control module installed on each of the at least pair of motor powered rail vehicles, a bi-directional communication between the controller and at least one control module in one of the at least pair of motor powered rail vehicles, a bi-directional communication between the at least pair of control modules, and at least one of the controller and the one of the pair of control modules configured to store in memory full load electrical power value and use the full load electrical power value in adjusting motor load for a respective motor powered rail vehicle. The control system also uses a subsonic motor signal to enhance low speed operation of rail vehicles and a graphical interface within the controller and capability to utilize previously unknown devices.

Control system for simplifying control of a model railroad

A knockout drive system for a food patty molding machine includes an electric motor; a rotary-to-linear motion converting apparatus operatively connected to the electric motor; and at least one knockout member operatively connected between the rotary-to-linear motion converting apparatus and the knockout plungers, to reciprocate the knockout plungers. The mold plate and knockout plungers are not mechanically linked to be driven together but are independently driven. The electric motor of the knockout drive system is a servo driven motor wherein the speed, acceleration, deceleration and dwell periods of the knockout plungers can be precisely controlled to be synchronized with the mold plate movements and positions, and for the type of food product, the output rate and the shape of the patties.

Drive system for a knockout apparatus for a patty-forming machine

A drive system reciprocates a mold plate between a cavity fill position and a patty discharge position, and can also reciprocate knock out plungers to discharge molded food patties from cavities in the mold plate at the patty discharge position. This drive system includes a first electric motor; a first rotary-to-linear motion converting apparatus operatively connected to the first electric motor; at least one drive member operatively connected between the first rotary-to-linear motion converting apparatus and the mold plate to reciprocate the mold plate. The drive system can also include a second electric motor; a second rotary-to-linear motion converting apparatus operatively connected to the second electric motor; and at least one knock out member operatively connected between the second rotary-to-linear motion converting apparatus and the knock out plungers, to reciprocate the knock out plungers. The first and second motors are precisely controlled to control and synchronize the movements of the mold plate and knock out plungers. The drive system can also include a control over a plurality of valves in a mold plate breather air pumping system.

Drive systems for a reciprocating mold plate patty-forming machine

A control for a weigh scale associated with a continuously moving conveyor which is capable of mathematically positioning the sample period on each product weight waveform. The control first triggers on a predetermined sensed weight. The control determines a first inflection point on the weight waveform defined as the &ldquo;maximum positive slope.&rdquo; Once the maximum positive slope is found, the control begins recording weight samples at a sampling rate. The control checks the weight waveform of sampled weights for a slope which is a first pre-selected percentage of the maximum slope but negative in slope value. This point is determined as the &ldquo;weight-off-scale&rdquo; point. When the weight-off-scale point is reached, then the control looks backward through the recorded data of weight samples to find another point which has a slope which is a second preselected negative percentage of the maximum positive slope. This point is defined as the &ldquo;end sample position.&rdquo; With the end sample position known, a &ldquo;start sample position&rdquo; is determined to fall within, or at the start of, a flat region of the waveform, such that the weight values within a sample period between the start and end sample positions are substantially constant. The weight values within the sample period are then averaged to determine a static weight value.
