A method for execution by a storage unit in a directory-less storage network includes receiving a read request regarding a data segment of a data object, where the data segment was error encoded into a set of encoded data slices. The method further includes outputting a read response regarding an encoded data slice of the set of encoded data slices that is stored by the storage unit. The method further includes identifying an other storage unit of the directory-less storage network to which the read request is to be forwarded, where the identifying the other storage unit includes one or more of accessing a table of localized mapping regarding one or more neighboring storage units to identify the other storage unit, and receiving a message from a network management unit. The method further includes forwarding the read request to the other storage unit.

Read requests in a directory-less storage network

A processing system of a storage network operates by: sending, to at least one storage unit of the storage network, at least one read request corresponding to at least a read threshold number of a set of encoded data slices to be retrieved, wherein the set of encoded data slices correspond to data, wherein the data is coded in accordance with dispersed error coding parameters that include a write threshold number and the read threshold number, wherein the write threshold number is a number of encoded data slices in the set of encoded data slices and wherein the read threshold number is a number of the set of encoded data slices that is required to decode the data; receiving, at the at least one processing circuit and from the at least one storage unit, a first subset of the set of encoded data slices, wherein at least one missing encoded data slice was not included in the first subset and wherein a number of encoded data slices in the first subset is less than the read threshold number; generating, via the at least one processing circuit, at least one rebuilt encoded data slice corresponding to the at least one missing encoded data slice utilizing locally decodable redundancy data, wherein the locally decodable redundancy data corresponds to a second subset of the set of encoded data slices that includes the at least one missing encoded data slice and wherein the locally decodable redundancy data is stored locally to the processing circuit; and recovering, via the at least one processing circuit, the data based on the at least one rebuilt encoded data slice and the first subset.

A method for execution by a computing device of a storage network includes appending at least a decode threshold number of encoded key slices of a set of encoded key slices to at least some encrypted data segments of a plurality of encrypted data segments to produce secure packages. The method further includes error encoding, in accordance with error encoding parameters, the secure packages to produce sets of encoded data slices, where a first secure package of the secure packages is dispersed storage error encoded using an error encoding function of the error encoding parameters to produce a first set of encoded data slices of the sets of encoded data slices. The method further includes outputting the sets of encoded data slices for storage in memory of the storage network.

Securely storing secure packages in a storage network

A computing device includes signal generation circuitry and also includes a location on the computing device that is operative to couple a signal generated by the signal generation circuitry into a user. For example, the computing device includes signal generation circuitry that generates a signal that includes information corresponding to a user and/or an application that is operative within the computing device. The signal generation circuitry couples the signal into the user from a location on the computing device based on a bodily portion of the user being in contact with or within sufficient proximity to the location on the computing device that facilitates coupling of the signal into the user. Also, the signal may be coupled via the user to another computing device that includes a touchscreen display that is operative to detect and receive the signal.

The method further includes partitioning the task based on the task partitioning to produce partial tasks. The method further includes sending the slice groupings and corresponding partial tasks to the storage and execution units.

A data distribution server includes a first interface for communicating with a plurality of content providers and a second interface for comminating with a plurality of wireless transceivers. The data distribution server includes memory storing operational instructions and processing circuitry operably coupled to the first and second interfaces and to the memory, where the processing circuitry is configured to execute the operational instructions to receive a portion of a data object from a content provider of the plurality of content providers, generate a plurality of data slices from the portion of the data object, distribute the plurality of data slices between the plurality of wireless transceivers for temporary storage and facilitate transmittal of the plurality of data slices to a user device that is adapted to wirelessly communicate with each wireless transceiver of the plurality of wireless transceivers.

A data matrix is then created from the first and second plurality of data blocks and then based on the data matrix transmitting a first data block from each of the first and second plurality of data blocks to a first relay unit. System and method for time-aligning data transmission to a mobile receiver

A pacemaker system includes a drive-sense circuit (DSC) operably coupled to a pacemaker lead. The DSC generates a pace signal including electrical impulses based on a reference signal. The DSC provides the pace signal via the pacemaker lead to an electrically responsive portion of a cardiac conductive system of a subject to facilitate cardiac operation of a cardiovascular system of the subject. The DSC senses, via the pacemaker lead, cardiac electrical activity of the cardiovascular system of the subject that is generated in response to the pace signal and electrically coupled into the pacemaker lead and generates a digital signal that is representative of the cardiac electrical activity of the cardiovascular system of the subject that is sensed via the pacemaker lead. The DSC provides digital information to one or more processing modules that includes and/or is coupled to memory and that provide the reference signal to the DSC.

The output operational amplifier compares receive signals to produce a signal representative of the contents with respect to positioning of the first and second electrodes.

The method further includes storing a data segment of the data in a cache memory of the massive data ingestion system. The loop correction circuit senses an effect of one or more load characteristics on a sensed value of the controlled characteristic of the drive signal and generates a comparison signal based on the sensed value and the reference value of the controlled characteristic. A regulation signal is generated based on the comparison signal and used to regulate the regulated characteristic of the drive signal. A control module controls the regulated source circuit and the loop correction circuit to iterate through at least a first combination and a second combination of regulated characteristics and controlled characteristics.
