A fluid moving apparatus includes an electric motor having a rotor and a stator and a propeller. The rotor rotates relative to the stator on an axis to generate a rotational output. The rotational output is provided to the propeller to power the marine propulsion apparatus. The stator includes one or more coils configured to power rotation of the rotor. The one or more coils extend circumferentially around and can be coaxial on the axis. A portion of a housing of the motor extends into the aquatic environment to facilitate heat dissipation.

Marine propeller system with high torque drive

A positive displacement pump includes a housing surrounding a drive chamber and a diaphragm compartment. A drive element is inside the drive chamber. A diaphragm is inside the diaphragm compartment and divides the diaphragm compartment into a fluid chamber and a cavity. A shaft connects the drive element and the diaphragm. A breather valve is fluidically connected to the cavity and is configured to allow air to exit the cavity. The cavity is fluidically disconnected from the drive chamber.

Breather valve

A valve for a reciprocating pump includes a housing, a first chamber, a second chamber, a first valve element, and a second valve element. The housing includes an inlet and an outlet. The first and second chambers are within the housing. The first chamber includes a first valve seat and is fluidly connected to the inlet. The second chamber includes a second valve seat and is fluidly connected to the outlet. The first valve element is disposed in the first chamber and includes a spring-loaded check valve element. The second valve element is disposed in the second chamber and includes a buoyant material.

Bellows pressure relief valve

A surge suppressor includes a boost mechanism configured to balance pressures between a working fluid and a process fluid. The boost mechanism includes a boost member that is acted on by a charge pressure of the working fluid. A shaft extends from the boost member to a pressure control member bounding the process fluid and acting on the process fluid. The boost member can have a larger effective area than the pressure control member to provide a pressure multiplication between the charge pressure and the process fluid pressure. In addition, pressure control valves are mounted to an air housing and actuated open by the boost mechanism. Actuating one of the pressure control valves open increases the charge pressure. Actuating the other pressure control valve open decreases the charge pressure.

Pneumatic surge suppressor

A reciprocating pump includes a housing, a rod, and a bellows. The housing surrounds a bellows chamber and a displacement chamber. A portion of the rod extends through the opening in the endcap and into the bellows chamber of the housing. A cross-section of the rod includes a lobed shape. The bellows is connected to the housing and to the rod such that the bellows surrounds a portion of the rod.

Bellows anti-rotation construction

A reciprocating pump includes a housing, a rod, a sleeve, a bellows, and a nut. The housing includes a bellows chamber and a working chamber. The rod extends into the reciprocating pump such that the rod extends through the bellows chamber and partly into the working chamber. The rod includes a shoulder. The sleeve is connected to the rod such that the sleeve surrounds a portion of the rod. The bellows is connected to the sleeve such that the bellows surrounds a portion of the sleeve. The nut is attached to a bottom end of the sleeve such that the nut clamps an end of the bellows to the bottom end of the sleeve.

Bellows installation and retention method

A pump system comprises an electric motor, a pump, a converter and a controller. The electric motor has a rotational output shaft that is rotatable in a first rotational direction and an opposite second rotational direction. The pump has a linearly displaceable input shaft that is movable in a first linear direction and an opposite second linear direction. The converter couples the output shaft to the input shaft such that rotation of the output shaft in the first rotational direction translates the input shaft in the first linear direction, and rotation of the output shaft in the second rotational direction translates the input shaft in the second linear direction. The controller repeatedly reverses rotation of the output shaft to produce reciprocating motion of the input shaft.

Reciprocating positive displacement pump with electric reversing motor

A muffler for a positive displacement pneumatic motor includes a case, an inlet, a diffuser, a pathway, and sound absorbing material. The inlet and the diffuser are attached to the case. The pathway extends between the inlet and the diffuser and allows ice to travel through the muffler. The sound absorbing material is positioned in the pathway and includes more than one duct through which gas passes.

In a reciprocating piston pump, pistonhas first or upper endand second or bottom endhaving inletand outletbores respectively located therein. Inlet checkis located in borewhile outlet checkis located in bore. As can be seen in FIG., each of boresandbranches into three (in the preferred embodiment) flow paths which alternate and are intertwined. It is the unique flow paths incorporating both the inlet and outlet check valves in the piston that are the key features of the invention.

Internal bellows pump fluid path

The pump () prevents fluid leaks when a bellows () ruptures in a pump incorporating a flexible bellows () as a primary seal and prevents fluid from leaking out of a pump () or the pump () ingesting air in the event of a bellows rupture. This is done by adding an additional seal () after the bellows and a large volume backup chamber

A cup for an air valve assembly in a positive displacement pneumatic motor includes a cup body, a gas cavity, and a first pilot slot. The cup body is rectilinear and has a sliding face as one side, and the gas cavity is concave and extends into the cup body through the sliding face and terminates within the cup body. The first pilot slot extends from the gas cavity and into the cup body through the sliding face and terminates within the cup body.

Automatic pneumatic valve reset system

The 4-way valve used to control the operation of a pneumatic motor can be pneumatically operated such as by a pilot valve. The pilot valve () works by creating a restriction at the high-pressure air/signal port () regardless of the pressure drop up-stream of the pilot valve () while still allowing for adequate flow once the valve () is actuated. An additional slide valve () is added to the pilot valve () that restricts the inletof the pilot valve () above the poppet valve () that creates a pressure drop, see FIG.. The extra pressure drop forces the valve () to snap open once the actuator pin () contacts the poppet valve () to create the hysteresis. Once the valve () snaps open, the slide valve () moves to uncover the high-pressure ports (), removing the restriction to ensure that the main 4-way () fully actuates.
