A recreational water spray apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus may be provided a continuous pressurized flow of water without a pump to enhance continuity of a game by eliminating one or more delays to reload a water source. The apparatus may include a target disc disposed on a first end of the target control rod, a user throwing a projectile in an attempt to strike the target disc and upon the projectile striking the target disk, a conical spray of water is dispensed upon one or more user participants. Another embodiment of the recreational water spray apparatus is hinged. The hinged apparatus may allow a one piece upper frame tube and the safety barrier net to move at one or more different angles to a ground surface and allow the recreational water spray apparatus to be folded to create a slimmer profile for storage.

Recreational water spray apparatus

A child's riding toy is provided having a vehicle body, at least one rotatable tire, and traction band. The at least one rotatable tire is configured to support at least a portion of the vehicle body and move the vehicle body from one location to another. The rotatable tire comprises a circumferentially-extending tread section, a sidewall, and a circumferentially-extending shoulder connecting to both the tread section and sidewall. The circumferentially-extending tread section comprises a tread surface configured to engage a ground surface while supporting at least the portion of the vehicle body. The tread section includes a channel equatorially located and circumferentially-extending. The traction band is sized to fit within the channel and have a top surface located about flush with the tread surface such that as the tread surface engages the ground surface so too does the band's top surface. Wherein both the traction band and tire tread simultaneously engage the ground to move the ride-on toy.

A switch for use in a ride-on vehicle for children. The switch includes plural contact sets operated by an actuator to control the speed and/or direction of the vehicle. In the disclosed embodiment, a separator structure blocks contact sets from closing when they should be open to prevent inadvertent shorting.

Switch for use in ride-on vehicles for children

A safety switch with a contactor structure including first and second contactor contacts electrically connected to each other. The switch has an 'on' state in which first and second terminal contacts are contacted with the first and second contactor contacts, respectively, to thereby electrically connect the terminal contacts therebetween, and an 'off' state in which the terminal contacts are not electrically connected to each other by the contactor structure, whereby current cannot flow between the terminal contacts. The switch also has a cycle control mechanism with a normal-state in which the switch is free to cycle between the 'on' and 'off' states, and a welded-state in which one of the terminal contacts is welded to one of the contactor contacts and the other of the contactor contacts is separated from the other of the terminal contacts. When the cycle control mechanism is in the welded state, the switch is prevented from moving from the 'off' state to the 'on' state.

Fail-safe switch

A multi-positional electrical switch is provided for use in a child's riding toy wherein a power source is connected to a plurality of motors in selected alternative configurations so as to impart varying rotational motion to the toy's driven wheels. The switch includes a stationary base with a plurality of stationary contacts, and a manually operable selector mechanism which carries an arrangement of electrically conductive bridges capable of variously connecting the contacts of the base plate. Each such contact is electrically connected to a predetermined terminal of the motors and power source so as to provide electrical input and output to each motor through the switch. The bridges move unitarily with the selector mechanism, alternatively placing the toy's drive system in a high-speed forward configuration, a low-speed forward configuration or a low-speed reverse configuration.

An foot pedal switch assembly including a panel for mounting a foot pedal and a switching mechanism, wherein the panel includes a debris fence surrounding the switching mechanism and the pedal has a cap structure molded in the bottom to telescopically engage around the debris fence forming a substantially continuous barrier to the entry of dust and debris into the switching mechanism.

A free-wheeling safety switch is intended for controlling a power supply for a motor and includes a linked single-throw conductor and a double-throw conductor. A fusible link is located between the poles of the conductors. A connection between the double-throw conductor and the single-throw conductor switches the conductors sequentially such that the double-throw conductor switches between its normally closed position and its switched position prior to the single-throw conductor shifting from its normally-off position to its on position. The single-throw conductor is switched from its on position to its off position before the double throw conductor switches to its normally closed position. The power supply is electrically connected to the motor only when the double-throw conductor is in its switched position and the single-throw conductor is in its on position.

Fail safe switch

A battery recharge interconnection system is provided for use on an electric toy vehicle or other load device powered by a rechargeable battery. The interconnection system includes a charger receptacle, operatively connected to a rechargeable battery, covered by a rotatable disc. An opening in the disc permits a plug from an external charger to be inserted through the opening and into the charger receptacle whenever the disc is rotated to a predetermined position in which the opening overlies the receptacle. The rotatable disc is also mechanically coupled to an actuator which engages and operates a cut-out switch or other device. During normal operation of the battery-operated device, the disc is rotated to a first position in which the charger receptacle is obstructed by the disc and the cut-out switch is disengaged. To recharge the device, the disc is rotated to a second position in which the opening in the disc overlies the receptacle, permitting a recharger plug to be inserted in the receptacle. When the disc is in the second position, the cut-out switch is engaged, preventing operation of the device. A current protection fuse in the charging circuit is also disclosed.

A control mechanism operable for selectively moving an on-off switch into on and off positions includes an on-off switch having opposed, first and second ends simultaneously movable in opposite directions, an actuator disposed adjacent the on-off switch selectively movable for engaging the first end of the on-off switch and urging it in a first direction to an on position accompanied by movement of the second end of the on-off switch in the opposite direction, and a biasing device disposed adjacent the on-off switch and externally thereof for engaging the second end of the on-off switch and normally maintaining it in the off position. The biasing device yieldably resists movement of the actuator when it engages the first end of the on-off switch and moves it in the first direction toward the on position.

Control mechanism for an on-off switch

A child's battery-powered riding toy includes a floorboard with two spring-biased switches that must be closed by the child operator to place the vehicle in self-powered motion and can only be reached simultaneously of the child operator is safely aboard. The battery power supply is capable of providing high or low voltage to the motor drive, but a reversing switch is connected between the battery power supply and the motor drive, and it must be in its 'forward' position to receive the high battery voltage. In its 'reverse' position, the reversing switch separately connects the motor drive to only the low battery voltage. The spring-biased switch connected directly to the reversing switch has a dynamic braking load connected to it to be placed across the motor drive when the reversing switch is in its 'forward' condition and the latter spring-biased switch is allowed to be under the control of its biasing spring. The floorboard is supported by hangers from the frame of the toy vehicle and is connected by snap-fastener components to the hangers.

Two pedal, three-way control for child's riding toy

A childs wheeled riding toy of the three wheeled type having a front steerable wheel and a pair of rear motor driven wheels in which the child sits astride of the toy with his feet resting on opposed foot rest positions of the toy is disclosed having a pair of direct current motors, gear reduction coupled in driving relation to respective rear toy wheels and a pair of like storage batteries for powering the motors. A control circuit for selectively energizing the motors includes a switching arrangement for connecting the batteries in series and to the motors for high speed toy operation, and in parallel and to the motors for low speed operation. A second switching arrangement for disconnecting the motors from the batteries and for connecting the motors to a resistive load for dynamic braking is also included. Still further, a foot actuable dead man switching arrangement which is normally biased to an open circuit condition to preclude application of battery power to the motors is accessible to the child and operable to a closed circuit condition for enabling the motor drive arrangement.
