For example, a system can comprise: a memory that stores executable components; and a processor, operatively coupled to the memory, that executes the executable components, the executable components comprising: a blockchain component that stores data representative of an output of an industrial automation device to an industrial blockchain, and an execution component that, in response to the output satisfying a smart contract stored on the industrial blockchain, facilitates execution of an element of the smart contract.

Blockchain-enabled digital twins for industrial automation systems (e.g., using a computerized tool) are enabled. For example, a non-transitory computer-readable medium having stored thereon instructions that, in response to execution, cause an industrial device comprising a processor to perform operations, the operations comprising: determining an equivalency of the configuration of the industrial automation component based on a comparison of the first configuration fingerprint with a second configuration fingerprint of the configuration of the industrial automation component generated at a second time, subsequent to the first time, determining an equivalency of the configuration of the industrial automation component based on a comparison of the first configuration fingerprint with a second configuration fingerprint of the configuration of the industrial automation component generated at the second time, and generating an output indicative of the equivalency of the digital twin and the equivalency of the configuration.

Blockchain-enabled digital twins for industrial automation systems

Industrial blockchain enabled automation control (e.g., using a computerized tool) is enabled. For example, a system can comprise: a memory that stores executable components, a processor, operatively coupled to the memory, that executes the executable components, the executable components comprising: a minting component that, based on a manufacturing criterion associated with a product being determined to be satisfied, mints a non-fungible token associated with the product, wherein the non-fungible token comprises authenticity data representative of a birth certificate for the product, and a blockchain component that registers the non-fungible token with a blockchain.

Industrial blockchain enabled automation control

Techniques to facilitate communication between remote industrial assets are disclosed herein. In at least one implementation, a computing system provides a virtual private network (VPN) service for an industrial automation network of an industrial automation enterprise. The computing system communicates with a first gateway system to establish a first connection between a first industrial asset and the VPN service for the industrial automation network. The computing system also communicates with a second gateway system to establish a second connection between a second industrial asset and the VPN service for the industrial automation network, wherein the second industrial asset is located at a disparate location than the first industrial asset. Bi-directional communications are routed between the first industrial asset and the second industrial asset to enable interactions between the first industrial asset and the second industrial asset as if they were directly connected over a same local communication network.

Remote line integration

An industrial automation gateway providing an extended web of trust is provided. The industrial automation gateway includes a cloud communication interface coupled with a cloud automation facility, a hardware memory, and a processor coupled with the cloud communication interface and the hardware memory. The cloud automation facility includes a cloud hardware memory storing a cloud root certificate from a first root certificate authority and a subordinate certificate. The hardware memory stores a gateway root certificate from a second root certificate authority and the subordinate certificate. The processor is configured to determine if the subordinate certificate has been certified by the first root certificate authority and the second root certificate authority. The processor is also configured to transfer automation data to the cloud automation facility using the subordinate certificate only if the subordinate certificate has been certified by the first root certificate authority and the second root certificate authority.
