A voice control interactive system and method to provide a hands-free operation for the operator to monitor and control multiple conveyors in a warehouse. The system comprises a first computing device and a second computing device. The first computing device is configured to receive a transmission from the second computing device, the transmission including information relating to a verbal command spoken by an operator associated with the second computing device. The first computing device is configured to generate a response signal in response to the transmission. The response signal includes information relating to a response for the verbal command. The information is generated based on a location of the second computing device. Generating the response signal includes identifying an optimal route information for the second computing device to reach a location of the first computing device.

Interactive voice system for conveyor control

A speed control system for sorters (e.g. sliding shoe sorters) comprises a sensor for measuring a sorter current speed of a sorter and a speed controller for setting peripheral conveyor commanded speeds for peripheral conveyors in communication with the sorter. During acceleration or deceleration of the sorter (e.g., in response to start or stop events of the sorter, or from one operating speed to another operating speed), the speed controller sets the peripheral conveyor commanded speeds to match or track the sorter current speed in order to ramp up or ramp down speeds of the peripheral conveyors with that of the sorter, which accelerates or decelerates more slowly than the peripheral conveyors. The speed controller may control the speed of different types of peripheral conveyors (e.g., upstream, intermediate, downstream) in various ways based on the type of the peripheral conveyors and/or based on user-configurable exception settings.

A method for establishing and transmitting the status parameters of a conveyor and it's articles accumulated includes recording a first signal and a second signal with the first signal received from at least one sensor of a plurality of sensors in a conveyor zone and the second signal transmitted in response to receiving the first signal. The first signal is indicative of an article presence status in the conveyor zone and the second signal is indicative of an actuation status of the conveyor zone. Further, the method includes storing the first signal and the second signal recorded over a periodic scan cycle in a memory to create a historical log of the first signal and the second signal.

Methods and systems for establishing and transmitting status parameters of a conveyor technological field

Various embodiments described herein relate to a method of predicting article dimensions and controlling release timing of upcoming articles from upstream conveyors and dynamically computing release times for the upstream conveyors. The method includes predicting a dimension of an upcoming article and creating empty spaces on an upstream conveyor between one or more upstream articles from among a set of upstream articles by controlling an operating speed of a set of drive motors of the upstream conveyor based on the predicted dimension for the upcoming article. Further, the release times of the set of upstream articles is dynamically computed based on a cumulative length of the set of upstream articles and an operating speed of the upstream conveyor.
