Methods of ex vivo labeling of a biological material for in vivo imaging, methods of labeling a biological material in vivo, methods for preparing a labeling agent, and methods for in vivo imaging of a subject using a biological material labeled with a labeling agent are disclosed. In one non-limiting example, the biological material is selected from cells and the labeling agent is aZr-Desferrioxamine-NCS labeling agent.

Methods for cell labeling and medical imaging

Embodiments of the invention provide methods of synthesizingF-tetrafluoroborate (F-TFB) via direct radiofluorination on boron trifluoride (BF) to enhance both labeling yield and specific activity. Uses ofF-TFB are also contemplated.

A method for chemically induced homing of extracellular vesicles (EVs) to a specific tissue or organ in a subject for either treatment or diagnosis of a medical condition, the method comprising administering to the subject an amount of a homing agent. The homing agent is at least one of a derivative of poly(ethylene glycol), or a derivative of phenothiazine. The EVs are homed to the homing agent in the subject.

In vivo targeting of extracellular vesicles

Methods for rapid isolation of radionuclides (e.g.,Ga) produced using a cyclotron and methods for recycling of the parent isotope (e.g.,Zn) are disclosed. In one version of the method, a solution including a radionuclide (e.g.,Ga) is created from a target including cations (e.g.,Zn). The solution including the radionuclide is passed through a first column including a sorbent comprising a hydroxamate resin to adsorb the radionuclide on the sorbent, and the radionuclide is eluted off the sorbent. The cations (e.g.,Zn) are recovered from a recovery solution that has passed through the first column by passing the recovery solution through a second column including a second sorbent comprising a cation exchange resin.

Methods, compositions, and systems related to preparing gaseousF-compounds for use in radiolabeling positron emission tomography (PET) tracer precursor compounds are disclosed. [F]fluoride ions produced by conventional methods are converted by reaction with an acid anhydride having the formula: to a gaseousF-compound having the formula: wherein each R is independently a substituted or unsubstituted, straight chain or branched C-Calkyl group. The gaseousF-compounds, which also can be readily trapped on solid-phase extraction media or in organic solvents such as acetonitrile, provide an alternative source of [F]fluoride for use in the nucleophilic substitution reactions that are used to synthesize a large number ofF-labeled PET imaging tracers, including 2-[F]fluoro-2-deoxyglucose (FDG).
