A robot hand including a set of carpal bones, each of the carpal bones having at least one adjacent bone; and each carpal bone defining at least one socket. For each pair of adjacent carpal bones, at least one connector having a first and second end and wherein the first end and the second end are each in the form of a ball, and wherein the balls are joined by a connective element. Wherein the ball at the first end of the connector is fitted conformally into the socket of a first one of the pair of adjacent carpal bones and the ball at the second end of the connector is fitted conformally into the socket of a second one of the pair of adjacent bones, thereby joining the carpal bones together, but permitting limited relative movement.

Robot appendage

A tendon and rigid element assembly that includes a tendon subassembly, including a tendon having a longitudinal end having a mating portion. Also, a rigid element has a mating portion. Further, a first one of the mating portions includes a set of projections and a second one of the mating portions defines a set of indentations that are sized and shaped to accept and retain the projections and wherein the set of projections are secured in the set of indentations, thereby securing the tendon to the rigid element.

Tendon and rigid element assembly

A method of assembling a portion of a robot, including, providing a robot arm having an exterior surface and providing a tendon retaining element, having a first half having a first major surface, defining open channels and a second half having a second major surface. Then, placing a tendon in each of the open channels of the first half and placing the second major surface on the first major surface, thereby creating a set of closed channels each having a tendon passing therethrough and creating a finished tendon retaining element. Finally, attaching the finished tendon retaining element about the exterior surface of the robot arm, so that the tendons extend along the length of the robot arm.

Tendon systems for robots

A robot tendon system having a robot arm having an exterior surface, and further rigid elements, each of which is moveably attached to the robot arm or to another of the further rigid elements. Further, a tendon retaining element defines a set of closed channels, and has a major exterior surface that is attached to the major surface of the robot arm. Finally, tendons extend through the closed channels and are attached to the rigid elements.

An infant holding device, including an infant holding portion, including a ductile sheet covered with infant-compatible material and a stand portion, adapted to support the infant holding portion in a vertically diagonal position, so that the infant holding portion thereby has a top and a bottom. In one preferred embodiment the ductile sheet is made of aluminum. In an additional preferred embodiment the infant holding portion is separable from the stand portion.

Infant support device

A short range telephonic communications system that includes transceiving units for receiving a sound signal from a first user and for transmitting an RF signal representative of the sound signal and for receiving RF signals representing other users sound signals and presenting a sound signal reconstructed from the received RF signals to the first user's ears. Also, the transceiving units estimate relative position between one another and present the reconstructed sound signals to the users' ears in a manner related to the relative position estimate.

Electronic communication system that mimics natural range and orientation dependence

An infant holding device, including an infant holding portion, including a ductile sheet covered with infant-compatible material and a stand portion, adapted to support the infant holding portion in a vertically diagonal position, so that the infant holding portion thereby has a top and a bottom. In one preferred embodiment the ductile sheet is made of aluminum.

A nasal CPAP cannula seal that includes a strip of flexible material, between about 3 to 10 cm in width and between about 5 to 15 cm in length. The strip defines a pair of substantially round nostril apertures, each aperture having a diameter of between 2 mm and 4.5 mm and being spaced apart by from 1.5 mm to 3 mm. Also, the strip further defines a set of cuts extending outwardly from each nostril aperture.
