Methods and systems for searching for objects. A plurality of Attributes can be assigned to each of a plurality of objects in a collection. Each of the Attributes can be assigned to a Kind. A search query can be received including at least one Attribute specified by a user. A list of Kinds can be displayed. The Attributes can be grouped into Kinds such that searching the objects to determine if the objects have a particular Attribute is not performed if the objects do not have Attributes of that Kind associated with an object to be searched. Grouped Attributes can be subdivided into smaller groupings and resulting subdivisions can be given a numerical score indicating how far a subdivision is from all or none.

Methods and systems for searching a database of objects

Methods for acquiring ultrasonic data are disclosed. An image-acquiring system is provided. A three-dimensional target region is selected. A plurality of fiducial positions corresponding to anatomical features in the target region are calculated. A model of the target region comprising a plurality of target locations representing a plurality of planned locations in the target region at which ultrasonic data is to be acquired is created, and a visual representation of the model comprising a plurality of graphical elements is displayed. Ultrasonic data at each of the planned locations is acquired. A transformation of the visual representation is executed, comprising: performing a data quality test at each target location; for any target location that fails the data quality test, altering a graphical element corresponding to the failed target location to indicate failure of the data quality test at that location; and displaying a transformed visual representation comprising updated graphical elements on the visual display.

Method for acquiring ultrasonic data

Methods and Systems for searching a database of Objects. Each Object is associated with a plurality of Attributes, each Attribute is associated with a Kind, and each Kind is associated with a plurality of Attributes. Search criteria comprising an Attribute is received. A Nonceattribute is created using the search criteria. A search utilizing the Nonceattribute is inputted. All Objects having the Nonceattribute are identified. All Attributes associated with the Objects are identified. All Kinds associated with the Attributes are identified. A ranking criterion is applied to identified Kinds and Attributes. The highest-ranked portion of the Kinds and the highest-ranked portion of the Attributes that can readably be shown in a search result display are displayed.

There is provided an imaging system comprising image capture apparatus and display apparatus. The image capture apparatus is for capturing an image of an operator work site, the image including depth information. The display apparatus is in communication with the image capture apparatus, and comprises at least one display screen. The display apparatus is arranged to receive the image captured by the image capture apparatus, including the depth information, and display to the operator the image captured by the image capture apparatus, including the depth information, on the display screen. The display screen is located between the operator's eyes and the position of the work site. There is also provided a method for capturing and displaying an image of an operator work site.

Imaging system and method

An imaging system comprising an image capture apparatus, arranged to capture a stereoscopic image of an operator work site, in communication with a display system; the display system arranged to receive and display said stereoscopic image on a display screen to said operator; wherein said display system is arranged such that the display screen is placed intermediate the operator's eyes and the work site.

Imaging device and method

A method includes obtaining first volumetric image data, which is acquired at a first time, including a region of interest with a structural feature located at a first position. The method further includes obtaining second volumetric image data, which is acquired at a second different time, including the region of interest with the structural feature located at a second different position. The method further includes determining a registration transformation that registers the first and second volumetric image data such that the at least one structural feature in the first volumetric image data aligns with the at least one structural feature in the second volumetric image data. The registration transformation is based at least on a contour guided deformation registration. The method further includes generating a signal indicative of the registration transformation.

Contour guided deformable image registration

Known time reversal methods consist of three steps which may be listed as (i) the recording of signals and (ii) the time reversing of the recorded signals, and (iii) the transmission of the time-reversed signals. The first and third steps of the above process are retained, but the second step is modified. The empirical signal is transformed to fit mathematical forms taught by the mathematics of singularity and catastrophe theory that ensure a structural stability to the waveforms that will be received, when the time reversed signals are transmitted again. This structural stability ensures robustness of the waveform and the predominant direction of the flux of energy of the waveform, and improves controllability of the location of the high magnitude regions of the energy flux despite limited knowledge of the exact properties of the medium. Applications to drug delivery in the brain, and geophysical applications are envisaged.

Creating, directing and steering regions of intensity of wave propagation in inhomogeneous media

Techniques are provided for glyph rendering based on a polygon mesh having vertices located away from a glyph's outline. Skeletonisation may be used to establish polygonal skeletons in the interior region of a glyph and in the outside region of the glyph. Transepts oriented away from the glyph's outline may be generated for nodes on the glyph's outline. A polygon mesh may be generated with vertices constrained to be selected from a set of candidate vertices comprising termination points of transepts, skeleton nodes, and/or points on the glyph's bounding boxes. Implicit forms may be determined from curves or lines representing segments of the glyph's outline, without use of B&#xe9;zier control points and endpoints. These implicit forms along with tessellation data may be provided to a computing device as glyph rendering data for rendering the glyph at runtime.

Glyph rendering

A contents display and search system for navigating and searching and exploring a collection of objects includes a database of Attributes; each of the Attributes being associated with one or more objects, and a database of Kinds, each Kind being associated with one or more Attributes. When a user enters a search query including at least one Attribute, an object is tested to determine whether it has Attributes of the Kind corresponding to the Kind of the at least one specified Attribute before function testing is performed. Search and contents investigation results are presented in a hierarchical format in which Kinds and Attributes rather than objects, are displayed until the search or content type is further specified by selecting additional Kinds and/or Attributes such that the number of objects satisfying the specified search is below a threshold. User interaction modifies the hierarchical order of Kinds and Attributes in the display.

Search and presentation engine

A computer-implemented system and method for determining an optimal manner of introducing and moving an introduced entity from an introduction site to a target tissue region. The method comprises: calculating a modeling value at the introduction site, the pathway to the target tissue region, and the target tissue region; calculating a diffusion value representing a concentration gradient of the introduced entity as it moves through the introduction site, the pathway, and the target tissue region; calculating a flow value representing how the introduced entity is transported through the introduction site, the pathway, and the target tissue region; and determining a time, location, and method for introducing and moving the introduced entity based on the modeling value, the diffusion value, and the flow value.

System and process for metabolic guidance of introduced cellular material

The user is enabled to move smoothly between viewing an entire document in a word by word display, through views that display only elements of increasing landmark value, to an overview of the document in a single display window. A document is parsed into a hierarchy, of which each node at every level (from chapter to sentence, clause or long word) has a display state (invisible, tokenized or open) for the way it is shown as part of an expandable view of the document. The contents opted for display within a tokenized view may be prioritized according to a system of landmark values. The view is modified by user input using an explicit data structure of nodes and states within the device controlling the display, or by structuring in another system the underlying logic of the arrangement of code that is acted upon by a web browser.

Method and system for facilitating the examination of documents

A set of versions of a file, with one chosen as baseline version, is displayed as a single flow of material where all agree with the baseline and in separate difference columns where they do not. A current version may be edited either directly or by adoption of material from different versions, which may be toggled in and out of visibility. Sequential undo (step-wise or by a slider) can be localized to chosen subsets of the current version, and any chosen subset can be restored as a unit to an earlier state.

Method and system for harmonization of variants of a sequential file

A method and system for mapping anatomical connection and signaling across a multiplicity of channels, channel contents, and channel speed. In particular, the anatomical connection and signaling is mapped in relation to the human brain. Constructs a three-dimensional, dynamically structured, active model, for general or individual patterns. Uses for the present invention include: risk reduction in surgery to significant channels; planning cell insertion at sites where they can be expected to migrate to a less reachable target site; guiding searches for metastatic tumors; indirectly localizing brain structures; constructing models of disease in which multiple sites are involved in the deficit and any proposed repair; and building simulation of normal processes which require the sequential interaction of multiple sites.

Method and system for prediction and management of material and information transport in an organism

A method supplies a dynamic vector map of properties within a region or a unified suite of quantification functionality for property functions, such as density functions, conduction functions (e.g., thermal conduction, electrical conduction, atomic or subatomic mass conduction, macromolecular mass conduction), defined on, defined in or defining a three-dimensional space, which functions may optionally vary in time. At least two services assisting in the definition of the map or suite, even in a dynamic modality, are selected from: (a) computation of the volume of the region where the density lies above or below a specified threshold, or between two specified values; (b) computation of the integral of the density; (c) estimation of the rate of change of the density with respect to time, optionally restricted to a specified region; (d) estimation of the local or global failure of conservation represented by changes with time in the density; (e) estimation of the local or global rate at which material with a changing density is passing through a specified surface (e.g., boundary); and (f) separation of the density of a material with a changing density, given an implemented transport model, into 'free' and 'bound' densities.
