A portable multifunction device displays a first widget on a touch screen and detects a first gesture on a settings icon on the first widget. In response to the first gesture, the device displays user-adjustable settings for a plurality of widgets, including settings for the first widget. The device detects one or more additional gestures to change one or more settings for one or more widgets in the plurality of widgets. In response to the additional gestures, the device changes one or more settings for other widgets, including changing one or more settings for a respective widget other than the first widget. Upon detecting a widget selection gesture and a finishing gesture on the touch screen, the device displays a second widget in the plurality of widgets other than the first widget.

Portable multifunction device, method, and graphical user interface for configuring and displaying widgets

A portable electronic device with a touch screen display displays a first list of information about online video items in a plurality of lists. The device displays a plurality of icons corresponding to at least some of the plurality of lists. In response to detecting a moving finger gesture on the first list, the device scrolls the first list. In response to detecting a stationary finger gesture on a first portion of a row in the first list, where the row contains information about a particular online video item, the device: initiates a request for the particular online video item from a remote computer, receives the particular online video item, and plays the particular online video item. In response to detecting a finger gesture on a respective icon in the plurality of icons, the device displays a corresponding list of information about online video items.

Portable multifunction device, method, and graphical user interface for playing online videos

Some embodiments of the invention are directed to, among other things, systems, computer readable media, methods and any other means for using a handheld device to present information to a user. The handheld device and server(s) can be configured to differentiate among inexpensive and expensive information. For example, the handheld device can be configured to present media listings that represent media stored on the server(s). Each media listing can include text (inexpensive information) and thumbnails (expensive information). While the user scrolls through the media listings, the new listings can only include text. Once the scrolling stops, the missing thumbnails can be downloaded and integrated into their corresponding listings. In response to a listing being selected, the corresponding media file can be downloaded and/or played back to the user by the handheld device.

An electronic device receives touch input signals associated with a respective region of a web page. The respective region of the web page is associated with a plurality of event handlers or event listeners including an event handler or listener for a touch event and an event handler or listener for a gesture event. In response to receiving the touch input signals, the device sends a gesture event to the web page. The gesture event corresponds to a combination of two or more touch events, and the two or more touch events correspond to the touch input signals. The device dynamically rotates an element associated with the respective region of the web page with the event handler or listener for the gesture event based on a rotation value associated with the gesture event, and sends the touch events to the web page for processing, distinct from the dynamically rotating.

A computer-implemented method for use at a portable multifunction device with a touch screen display includes displaying a web page or portion thereof on the touch screen display. An activation of an options icon is detected. In response, a plurality of icons including a web-clip widget creation icon is displayed. An activation of the web-clip widget creation icon is detected; in response, a web-clip widget is created corresponding to the displayed web page or portion thereof.
