In one example, a non-transitory computer readable medium for component verification and revocation includes instructions for a processor to verify that a component in a device is valid using a verification service and consequently enable a premium service. The processor may later use information from the verification service that the component is no longer valid and consequently alter the premium service.

A data collector agent (DCA) connector component running on a cloud computing network signals to a device interfacing platform component that a work request is ready. The device interfacing platform component runs on the cloud computing network and interfaces a device located outside the cloud computing network to the cloud computing network. The work request is for the DCA connector component to perform in conjunction with the device. The DCA connector component establishes a communication session with the device via the device interfacing platform component as initiated by the device. The DCA connector component performs the work request in conjunction with the device by tunneling to the device through the established communication session.

A user device constructs a custom color table for an imaging device and transmits the custom color table to a computing device. The computing device digitally signs the custom color table constructed at the user device. The digitally signed custom color table is deployed to the imaging device. Examples described herein include methods for configuring deployed devices, such as printers and scanners, across a network. Such methods include parsing a manageable features message received from a deployed electronic device according to a common management framework protocol to determine specifications for a manageable feature of the deployed electronic device, generating a features object comprising the specification for the manageable feature according to the common management framework protocol, associating the features object to the deployed electronic device, generating a user interface based on the features object, and sending configuration message to the deployed electronic device based on user input received through the user interface and the features object.

In one example of the disclosure, for each of a plurality of printers of a printer fleet, identification data indicative of marking agent cartridges installed is obtained via a network. The identification data is caused to be stored in association with a fleet identifier for the printer fleet. A request for fleet installation information with respect to a first marking agent cartridge is received from a computing device. It is determined, based upon the identification data, whether a first marking agent cartridge was previously installed at a printer of the printer fleet. Determination data indicative of the determination is sent to the computing device.

In one example, a method for registering a printing device with a network-based service is described. The method may include a printing device receiving a print request, where the print request comprises an image, determining that the image includes a command to connect to a server of a network-based service to register the printing device with the network-based service. The method may further include the printing device connecting to the server in response to the command and receiving a verification from the server that the printing device is registered with the network-based service.

Examples disclosed herein relate to unwrap a message received from a remote management service in a first device and to provide the message to a second device. A method for configuring data communication paths between a central controller and a plurality of devices is provided. The method ensures a first appliance is active. For each of the devices, a first communication capability is determined between the first appliance and the device. Signals indicative of the first communication capabilities are transmitted to the central controller. Respective communication paths are mapped between the central controller and the devices via the first appliance as a function of the first communication capabilities. The method ensures an automatic appliance failover is obtained.

Methods and apparatus for data retrieval

The system and methods described herein relate to printing usage information for managed printing devices in a uniform manner on customized self-test pages and using the customized self-test pages for automatic data entry of the usage information. A formatting device accesses and formats usage information from a printing device and creates a print job containing the formatted usage information in a customized self-test page. Formatted usage information printed on a customized self-test page is readily scanned and optically recognized for automatic entry into an accounting system. Automatic entry of usage information reduces labor hours and costs associated with managing fleets of printing devices.

System and methods for creating and using customized self-test pages

An imaging device and method provide memory management tasks on data of a page being composed in response to feedback generated by memory management tasks that are performed on pages in the page pipe that are waiting to be imaged. The feedback is throttled relative to memory management tasks that occur in the pipe. Advantageously, the memory management tasks are performed on the page being composed without waiting for an already composed page to finish imaging. Accordingly, page throughput of a multi-page print job is improved. The memory management tasks include compressing, relocating, and/or compressing and relocating data. Page data on which the memory management tasks are performed include raster patches, fonts, patterns, video bands, monster bands and vector bands. Atomic operations and/or a critical section locking mechanism provide collision avoidance as between the memory management tasks performed on data in the pipe and a video imaging task.
