A vehicle seating assembly includes a seatback. The seatback includes a rear portion and a substantially horizontal strap including first and second ends fixed to the rear portion. The substantially horizontal strap further includes an intermediate attachment area fixed to the rear portion between the first and second ends.

A vehicle seating assembly includes a first part, a second part with a second foam part, and a barrier with a permeable portion and a non-permeable portion. The vehicle seating assembly also includes an air passageway extending through the first part, the second foam part, and the permeable portion of the barrier and an air mover fluidly coupled to the air passageway for moving air through the air passageway.

An upper thoracic support is operably coupled to the seatback frame. The upper thoracic support is configured to move outward from the seatback frame from a stowed position to a deployed position. An actuatable comfort feature is coupled to the upper thoracic support and is configured to extend outward from the upper thoracic support from a retracted position to an extended position.

A seat assembly includes a frame assembly have a seat portion and a seatback portion, wherein a seat member is supported on the seat portion of the frame assembly and a seatback is supported on the seatback portion of the frame assembly. Each of the seatback and the seat include a support portion supported on a carrier member, wherein the support portion and the carrier member are comprised of porous non-absorbent materials that are configured to allow water to drain therethrough. A cover member is comprised of a perforated fabric that is non-absorbent, and includes a first portion covering the seat member and a second portion covering the seatback.

Off-road performance seat

A seam for use in a seat of a vehicle having a side airbag that deploys through a cover of the vehicle seat. The seam including a first material and a second material joined to the first material. A monofilament member used to join the first material to the second material. The monofilament member will allow for quicker and easier tearing of the seam thus allowing for more complete and quicker deployment of the airbag through the vehicle seat cover to protect the occupant from contact with interior surfaces of a vehicle.

Seat side airbag seam

A continuous side airbag seam for use in a seat of a motor vehicle is disclosed. The seam includes a first material and a second material or a combination of materials joined to one another. The seam further may include any known thread member used to join the first material to the second material. The seam will extend from a portion near the top of the side panel of the seat cover to a portion near the back of the side panel of the seat cover. The seam will be continuous from the top portion to the back portion of the side panel cover of the seat. The continuous seam will have a predetermined shaped curve therein. The predetermined shaped curve will allow for quicker deployment of both the thorax section and pelvis section of an advanced two part side airbag to deploy both downward and forward in a controlled manner.

Continuous side airbag seam

A connector assembly for use with a side airbag having a tearable seam in a vehicle seat is disclosed. The connector assembly includes a clip member having a slot near one end thereof and an inner chute connected to the clip member via the slot. The connector assembly also includes a rod releaseably secured to the clip member. An outer chute is connected to the rod and the seam on the opposite end thereof. The chute will allow for proper guidance of the airbag during deployment from the seat in a crash situation.
