An automated medical system and method for using the automated medical system. The automated medical system may comprise a robot support system. The robot support system may comprise a robot body. The robot support system may further comprise a selective compliance articulated robot arm coupled to the robot body and operable to position a tool at a selected position in a surgical procedure. The robot support system may further comprise an activation assembly operable to transmit a move signal to the selective compliance articulated robot arm allowing an operator to move the selective compliance articulated robot arm. The automated medical system may further comprise a camera tracking system and an automated imaging system.

Surgical robotic systems and methods thereof

A medical delivery device for advancing a piston in a medicament container to expel a medicament. A support structure supports the container and a drive assembly that advances the piston. The drive assembly includes a drive ribbon that can be retracted and extended. The retracted ribbon defines a spiral and the extended ribbon defines a helix. The drive ribbon is incrementally moveable between the retracted spiral configuration and extended helical configuration. A mechanical drive rotates the drive ribbon to selectively extend and retract the ribbon. A thrust member having a helical ramp engages a proximal edge of the drive ribbon where it transitions between a spiral and helix. A bearing member at the distal end of the drive ribbon exerts an axial force on the piston when the ribbon is extended.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a surgical robot system may include an end-effector element configured for controlled movement and positioning and tracking of surgical instruments and objects relative to an image of a patient's anatomical structure. In some embodiments the end-effector may be tracked by surgical robot system and displayed to a user. In some embodiments the end-effector element may be configured to restrict the movement of an instrument assembly in a guide tube. In some embodiments, the end-effector may contain structures to allow for magnetic coupling to a robot arm and/or wireless powering of the end-effector element. In some embodiments, tracking of a target anatomical structure and objects, both in a navigation space and an image space, may be provided by a dynamic reference base located at a position away from the target anatomical structure.

Surgical tool systems and methods

A medication delivery device usable with a medication container wherein advancement of a piston within the container expels medication. The device includes a housing and a drive assembly. The drive assembly includes a drive ribbon having distal and proximal edge sections. The drive ribbon has a retracted configuration defining a spiral and an extended configuration defining a helix. The drive ribbon is movable from the retracted configuration to the extended configuration with the movement defining a drive axis and advancing the piston. In some embodiments, the drive ribbon may not rotate as the drive ribbon is advanced while in other embodiments, the ribbon does rotate. Disclosed drive assemblies include manually driven assemblies, spring driven assemblies and motor driven assemblies. The container may be replaceable to allow for reuse of the device. In some embodiments, replaceable cartridges which include both the medication container and the drive ribbon are employed.
