A system for configuring gaming machines according to player gaming preferences is disclosed. The system includes a plurality of gaming machines. Each of the gaming machines includes a master gaming controller configured to provide game play of a wager-based game and a reader configured to read a configuration instrument. The master gaming controller modifies a configuration setting of the gaming machine based on a customized setting indicated in the configuration instrument. The system further includes a server in communication with the plurality of gaming machines. The server is configured to store the configuration setting, to validate the configuration instrument, and to provide the configuration setting to the plurality of gaming machines.

Methods and devices are described that allow a casino to dynamically service patrons. The dynamic systems and methods collect data related to the behavior of multiple people in a gaming establishment, and collect data for entertainment resources in the gaming establishment, such as gaming devices and services. The data may be flexibly used. In one embodiment, a person is at least partially identified in the casino. The gaming establishment uses a model that selects tailor offerings for a person, such as advertisements for services that the person may enjoy or games on gaming machines that the person may enjoy. The model selects a tailored offering for the person based on the at least partial identification and the data previously obtained for multiple people and entertainment resources. The identification, selection and offering may be performed in real time. In another embodiment, the gaming establishment uses the data to reconfigure its entertainment resources to better deploy its resources relative to the behavior of people in that specific gaming establishment.

Various techniques are disclosed for facilitating player tracking activities and/or player rating activities at a casino gaming table. One aspect is directed to different techniques for automatically starting, suspending, resuming and/or ending player tracking sessions at one or more table games. Automated data collection system for casino table game environments

Frameworks for providing modular computer program code and automated configuration of server-based gaming environments are disclosed. One or more 'pluggable' modular gaming modifier can be provided for the modular computer program code without requiring the replacement of the entire computer program code for the game. Typically, the pluggable' modular gaming modifier can be added to or can replace one or more gaming modules or sub-modules, thereby requiring less time and effort for effectively modifying game presentation. In addition, configuration data can be generated and stored as configurations templates which can be used to configure one or more gaming machines in an automated manner. The configuration templates can be generated based on gaming modules and/or sub-modules provided for modular computer program code. As such, a content-based configuration template can effectively include and/or identify one or more modules, sub-modules and/or pluggable modular or sub-modular gaming modifiers associated with a modular computer program code. The configuration modules can be combined together for form configuration modules that effectively incorporate the features of two or more existing configurations.

Pluggable modular gaming modifiers and configuration templates for gaming environments

Wireless communications among devices in a wager-based gaming environment are provided, including between an RFID-enabled player tracking card (or 'smart card') and an electronic wagering token. Wireless communications between the smart card and a plurality of electronic wagering tokens may be periodically initiated. Electronic wagering tokens which are detected as being within possession or control of a patron in possession of the smart card may be tracked during various events. Electronic wagering tokens which are within possession or control of the patron of the may be detected and identified. Token-owner association information which includes information relating to an ownership association between the patron and the electronic wagering token may be generated.

Intelligent player tracking card and wagering token tracking techniques

Wireless communications among devices in a wager-based gaming environment are provided, including between a number of RFID-enabled player tracking cards (or 'smart cards') and an electronic wagering token. The electronic wagering token periodically samples and stores updated information received from the smart cards; periodically acquires updated wagering token ownership information relating to an identity of a current owner of the wagering token, based on the sampled and stored updated information; stores, in a memory of the wagering token, at least a portion of the updated token ownership information; and provides, to at least one external device, wireless access to a first selected portion of the updated token ownership information stored in the memory.

Intelligent wagering token and wagering token tracking techniques

A bonus management server may have a processor configured to transmit a plurality of bonuses to at least one gaming device for selection by a player and configured to and receive data from a plurality of servers and the plurality of gaming devices. A system for monitoring game play is disclosed. The system includes at least one gaming device adapted to present a game to a player and generate game play data. A communication link is provided between the gaming device and a host over which game play data, including player information, is transmitted. The host is adapted to store, manipulate, display and otherwise use the data. In one embodiment, the host is arranged to generate an interface for display by a display device. Game play information is displayed with the interface. In one embodiment, game play information regarding one or more gaming machines is displayed real-time by the interface. Filters may be used upon and reports generated using the game play information. In one embodiment, the system includes one or more portable, hand-held devices for displaying the interface and information.

System, method and interface for monitoring player game play in real time

A player tracking system for tracking customer activity for a casino establishment having gaming sections and non-gaming sections. The player tracking system includes a plurality of player tracking cards for distribution to respective participating customers that incorporate respective customer accounts associated with respective customer IDs. The system further includes a plurality of gaming activity player tracking units positioned in the gaming section of the casino establishment proximate the gaming activity which cooperates with the player tracking cards to monitor the gaming activity data of the respective customer, and a plurality of non-gaming activity player tracking units positioned in the non-gaming section of the casino establishment proximate the non-gaming activity which cooperates with the player tracking cards to monitor the non-gaming activity data of the respective customer. A computer system includes a database of the respective customer accounts associated with respective customer Ids, and each gaming activity player tracking unit and each non-gaming activity player tracking unit coupled to the computer system to process the respective gaming activity data and non-gaming activity data for each respective customer.

A handheld maintenance module may be provided with a display unit capable of generating video images, a wireless transceiver device capable of wireless dats transmission and reception and adapted to be wirelessly coupled to a maintenance controller, and a module controller coupled to the display unit and the wireless data transceiver device. the module controller may be programmed to allow a person to receive a gaming unit maintenance work order that represents a request for a repair of a gaming unit, to cause a video image representing the gaming unit maintenance work order to be displayed on the display unit, to cause a video image of one or more instructions to repair the gaming unit to be displayed, to allow the gaming unit maintenance work order to be closed upon completion of the repair of the gaming unit, and to forward repair data to the maintenance controller.
