A dispensing closure (A,B) defines a central axis and has a first body (A,B) for being located at an opening of a container. The first body (A,B) having a first peripheral wall (A,B) and a membrane (A,B) that is connected to the first peripheral wall (A,B) to initially occlude access to the interior of the container. The membrane (A,B) includes a separation member (A,B) that accommodates engagement by a user to separate the membrane (A,B) from the first peripheral wall (A,B) to permit access to the interior of the container. The membrane (A,B) has an annular peripheral portion (A,B) adjacent the first peripheral wall (A,B) that slopes axially outwardly along the central axis in a radial direction moving away from the first peripheral wall (A,B) toward the central axis.

Dispensing closure

A closing element for restricting communication of a substance through an access passage of a body includes a first portion for being removably affixed to the body, the first portion having an inner wall, an outer wall surrounding the inner wall, and at least one bridge connecting the outer wall with the inner wall. The closing element has a second portion for being non-removably affixed to the body and a movable connecting element extending between the first portion and the second portion. The closing element has an unactuated configuration wherein a major portion of the length of the connecting element is located laterally between the inner wall and the outer wall to shield the major portion of the length of the connecting element.

Closure for a container and components for a closure

A closure includes: a body having a skirt wall in which an internal thread is formed; and a cylindrical tamper evident bottom portion which is connected to the skirt wall via a plurality of breakable bridge portions, and in which an engaging pieces to be engaged with an engaging jaw portion is disposed on an inner peripheral surface of the tamper evident bottom portion. A protruding piece protruding downward is disposed on the skirt wall of the body. An unbroken connecting piece is disposed to connect the skirt wall of the body and the tamper evident bottom portion and to allow the body to be moved upward with respect to the tamper evident bottom portion. An extending portion is formed at an engaging piece serving as the engaging pieces at least in an angle region where the protruding piece is present.

A dispensing system (A) includes a body (A) having an outer wall (A) defining a volume for storing a substance, the outer wall (A) having a top end (A) and a sealed bottom end (A). The top end (A) is covered by a flexible lid (A) that is connected to the body (A). The lid (A) has a press portion (A) for being engaged to move the lid (A) from a first position into a second, deflected position. A post (A) is connected to the lid (A) and is configured in the second position of the lid (A) to breach the sealed bottom end (A) to form a dispensing orifice (A) to accommodate movement of a substance out of the body (A).

The closure body () has an opening member () that is connected with the separable portion () to accommodate movement of the opening member () relative to the separable portion (). The opening member () has a grippable portion () and a puncture portion () each disposed in an initial inactive orientation relative to the separable portion ().

Closure for a container, closure components, and method of use thereof

A closure (A,B,C,D,F,G,H,I) having a base (A,B,C,D,F,G,H,I), a lid (A,B,D,F,I), and a utensil (A,B,E,F,G,I) is provided for a container (). One of the base (A,B,C,D,F,G,H,I) and the lid (A,B,D,F,I) includes a raised platform region (A) for releasably holding the utensil (A,B,E,F,G,I) and includes a recessed region (A) such that a handle portion (B,E,F,G,I) of the utensil (A,B,E,F,G,I) projects beyond the platform region (A) over the recessed region (A).

A fitment (A) is provided for a flexible, collapsible container () with an opening. The fitment (A) has a body (A) with an inner end () and an outer end () and an access passage () for communicating with an interior of the container (). The body (A) has a height defined between the inner end () and outer end (). The body (A) has a sealing portion (A) for being attached to the interior of the container (). The sealing portion () has a major dimension (MD) oriented generally transverse of the height of the body (A). The fitment (A) further has a pour lip (A) that extends from the body outer end () and projects laterally relative to the access passage (). The pour lip (A) defines a pour path (PP).

Fitment for a flexible container

A closure assembly () that includes a cap or overcap () and a fitment () for a container is provided wherein the fitment () has a laterally projecting shear member (), and the overcap () has an aperture () for initially receiving the shear member () when the overcap () and fitment () are in an initially assembled orientation or condition. The aperture () and the shear member () cooperate in the initially assembled orientation such that when subjected to a flow of a sterilizing gas, turbulence is created in the sterilizing gas flow to enhance sterilization of the combination. The closure assembly () may, instead, or additionally, be provided wherein the overcap () has an elongate, hollow plug () for establishing a first seal between the fitment () and the overcap () in the initially assembled orientation, and the wherein overcap () has a skirt () for establishing a second seal between the fitment () and the overcap () in the initially assembled orientation.

Closure

A closure body () is provided for installation with a liner membrane () on a container (). The closure body () has a peripheral portion () for being mounted on the container () around an access opening (), and a separable portion () that (i) is disposed laterally inwardly of the peripheral portion (); (ii) is initially connected to the peripheral portion () by at least one frangible connection (); and (iii) can be separated from the peripheral portion () upon breaking of the at least one frangible connection ().

A closure is provided for a container that has an opening to the container interior wherein contents may be stored. The closure includes the following: (A) a body having at least one access aperture that can communicate with the container opening and that can accommodate removal of the contents in a discharge direction out of the at least one access aperture; (B) a sliding seal member disposed on the body for accommodating movement of the seal member relative to said at least one access aperture between (a) a closed position sealing against the closure body at the at least one access aperture to occlude the at least one access aperture, and (b) an open position exposing the at least one access aperture; and (c) cooperating guide surfaces on the body and the sliding seal member for guiding the sliding seal member.
