In an illustrative, non-limiting embodiment, an Information Handling System (IHS) may include: a processor; and a memory coupled to the processor, where the memory includes program instructions store thereon that, upon execution by the processor, cause the IHS to: obtain current data from a current monitor, wherein the current monitor monitors current drawn by one or more monitored components of the IHS; and determine based, at least in part, on the current data, a presence or an absence of a required component of the one or more monitored components, or a presence of an unexpected component of the one or more monitored components.

To cool the components, the system may include fans usable to generate a through enclosure airflow to bring in cool air and expel warm air. The fans may be managed via a control system that includes multiple management entities that may operate under different ranges of thermal conditions and may be capable of performing various analysis for ascertaining how to operate the fans and heaters to thermally manage the system.

To manage the heat generated by the hardware components, a heat sink assembly may be used. Methods and systems for managing operation of data processing systems are disclosed. To manage the operation of the data processing systems, the data processing systems may include a secure processing module that hosts a management controller. While free standing, the secure processing module may be selectively powered via a port. While selectively powered, the management controller may obtain data structures usable to resolve incompatibilities between modules of the data processing system. Once integrated with other modules, the data structures may be used to place the modules into compatibility with each other.
