A jet noise suppressor and an airplane are provided. The jet noise suppressor includes a nozzle with a front end, a back end, an interior surface, and an exterior surface, a plurality of struts, and a plurality of vents. Each strut includes a base and a distal end with the base of each strut coupled to the interior surface of the nozzle, and each vent corresponds to a respective strut and is formed within the interior surface of the nozzle between the front end of the nozzle and the base of the respective strut.

Jet noise suppressor

An airfoil configured for low speed performance in an unmanned aerial vehicle includes an upper surface having an upper surface portion with a top local surface angle magnitude of less than 5 degrees at a subsection of a chord and a lower surface having a lower surface portion with a bottom local surface angle magnitude of less than 5 degrees at the subsection of the chord. The chord is defined by a line starting at a leading edge of the airfoil and extending to a trailing edge of the airfoil.

Concepts and technologies described herein provide for the detection of aircraft contrails through the identification of contrail shadows in real time imagery provided during a flight. According to one aspect of the disclosure provided herein, an antisolar point is located on a surface from the perspective of the aircraft in flight. Real time imagery encompassing the antisolar point is received and analyzed for a contrail indicator. When the contrail indicator is detected, it is determined that the aircraft is creating a contrail.

Aircraft contrail detection

Concepts and technologies described herein provide for the detection of aircraft contrails through the identification of contrail shadows in real time imagery provided during a flight. According to one aspect of the disclosure provided herein, aircraft flight data is received at a contrail detection computer. This data is used to locate an antisolar point on a surface of the earth from the perspective of the aircraft in flight. Real time imagery of an opaque or semi-opaque surface below the aircraft that encompasses the antisolar point is received and analyzed for a contrail indicator. When the contrail indicator is detected, it is determined that the aircraft is creating a contrail.

A method and apparatus comprising a frame and a door. The door may be moveably connected to the frame. The door may be capable of being rotated in the frame between a closed position and an open position to provide access to an opening of a vehicle body without moving the door outside of a mold line of the vehicle body.
