A bow sight automatically corrects and compensates for various dynamically changing aiming, shooting, and/or environmental conditions. The bow sight can perform situation-specific aim evaluations and corrections to correct or compensate for situation-specific shooting and environmental factors, at a given time and on a per-shot basis. The bow sight includes integrated sensor-type devices, such as a range finder, an inclinometer, and an anemometer, which detects values of situation-specific shooting and environmental factors and communicates such detected values with a processor or other control device. The processor uses the situational specific data, as well as bow and arrow performance data, and data from shot calibrations, to calculate precise vertical and horizontal aim compensations required to accurately hit the desired target point. The bow sight displays a new crosshair, dot, or multiple dot set, to direct the archer to a situation-specific aiming point for the most accurate shot under those particular circumstances.

Auto-correcting bow sight

A device for holding archery bows and/or other hunting accessories is provided. The hunting accessory holding device includes a base member that attaches to a mounting substrate such as a tree, an arm assembly that is configured to hold the archery bow, and a lift mechanism that connects the arm assembly to the base member. The lift mechanism automatically retracts the arm assembly upwardly, from an extended position to a retracted position, when the bow is removed from the arm assembly, thereby removing the arm assembly from the hunter's view and way. The lift mechanism can include a spring that provides a retracting force for moving the arm assembly. As desired, the lift mechanism can also provide an adjustable or variable braking force that opposes the retracting force and enables the hunter to determine a rate of arm retraction, as desired.

Hunting accessory holding devices

The invention provides a portable bow holder which is removably attached to a tree or other vertical support. The device has an arm that is adjustable in length and is capable of rotating horizontally around the point of attachment so that the holder may be aimed in varying directions around the hunter. A bow hook for holding the bow is also adjustable in a vertical plane to allow the hunter to position the bow at the proper height. In a preferred embodiment, the arm of the device automatically retracts out of the hunter's line of vision when the weight of the bow is removed, thereby enhancing the hunter's opportunity to successfully target the prey. Preferably, the rate of retraction of the arm can be adjusted by the hunter by rotating a hydraulic cylinder attached to both the arm and body of the device. The device also requires little movement by the user and therefore promotes a success hunt and hunter safety. The device further provides flexibility in use since different embodiments allow placement of the device either under or above the user.
