An adjustable volume sampling system is disclosed for aseptically retrieving a sample volume of a fluid from an origination container. The system includes a sampling container. A cap is removably attached to the sampling container so as to close off the open top. The cap includes two ports. A first tube is attached to one of the ports. An elongated diptube extends through port into the sampling container and an upper end of the diptube is located inside a portion of the first tube. The diptube can be raised and lowered relative to the sampling container by pinching an stretching the first tube. Syringes are provided for expelling excess material from the sampling container.

Adjustable volume sampling system (AVSS)

A pre-sterilized fluid sampling syringe is provided which includes a locking vacuum syringe, 3-way valve, check valve and thermoplastic inlet tubing capable of both aseptic welding and direct connections. The syringe is assembled with components and rendered sterile in its packaging. The packaging permits manipulation of the syringe by the user such that at time of use a vacuum can be generated in the syringe barrel by pulling and locking the plunger into a fully withdrawn position. By using the check valve and vacuum feature of the sampling system the user of the device has a means of aseptically flushing and obtaining fluid samples from a desired system, typically a bioreactor or other process used in biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical laboratories and manufacturing operations.

Pre-sterilized syringe system and method of use

A connector assembly and method of creating a connection is described. The connector assembly includes a connector fitting having at least one receiving component on an end of the connector fitting and a gasket having at least one appendage, where the at least one appendage of the gasket engages the at least one receiving component to create an at least temporary secured attachment of the gasket to the connector fitting end.
