A sensor mounting assembly is provided. The sensor mounting assembly includes a cover coupled to a glass roof of a vehicle. The cover encloses a sensor disposed proximate to the glass roof of the vehicle. The sensor mounting assembly further includes a bracket coupled to a roof rail located beneath the glass roof of the vehicle. The bracket has a first portion and a second portion. The first portion holds the sensor and the second portion forms a funnel shaped alignment member to align the cover with the bracket.

Sensor mounting assembly in vehicles

A vehicle mounting structure is provided for positioning both an associated camera of an associated vehicle sensor system and an associated fluid nozzle of an associated washer assembly operatively associated with the associated sensor system. The mounting structure includes a housing including an exterior face having a first inner surface portion forming a first opening extending through the face for positioning of the associated camera and a second inner surface portion forming a second opening extended through the face for positioning of the associated nozzle. A diversion feature is extended outwardly from the face. The diversion feature at least partially surrounds the second opening and is adapted to divert associated fluid away from the second opening.

A sensor mounting assembly is provided. The sensor mounting assembly includes a cover having a base portion and a shroud portion. The base portion is coupled to a glass roof of a vehicle and forms a first protrusion. The shroud portion has a first extension that is coupled to the first protrusion and encloses a sensor that is disposed proximate to the glass roof of the vehicle. The sensor mounting assembly further includes a bracket coupled to a roof rail that is located beneath the glass roof of the vehicle. The bracket is secured to the roof rail from an interior cabin of the vehicle, to hold the sensor proximate to the glass roof of the vehicle.

A camera assembly for a vehicle can include a first glass pane, a second glass pane, a garnish panel and a camera. The vehicle can have a side panel and a window opening in the side panel. The first glass pane can be configured to cover the widow opening and have a first light transmissivity. The second glass pane can be configured to cover a portion of the side panel that is adjacent to the opening and have a second light transmissivity that is greater than the first light transmissivity. The garnish panel can extend across the second glass pane. The camera can oppose the second glass pane.

Camera assembly for vehicle and vehicle including same

A sealing system and method for a mirror assembly of a vehicle is provided. The mirror assembly includes a wire harness and a gasket. A foam sheath is used to cover a portion of the wire harness, which is then routed through the gasket. This foam sheath is configured to fill any void between the wire harness and gasket. In some embodiments, a second foam sheath can be wrapped around the outside of the gasket as well as onto the first foam sheath. This creates a full seal outside of the gasket. Once this foam stack is created, the potential for wind noise caused by air traveling through the wire harness and gasket is substantially diminished. The foam stack also allows for the gasket to be deformed or bent while maintaining a reduction in noise.

Sealing system and method for exterior mirror

A bracket assembly for housing and mounting a LiDAR system to a roof of a vehicle is disclosed. The bracket assembly a base bracket having a base structure configured to be mounted to the roof of the vehicle, and a datum structure extending substantially perpendicularly to the base structure and configured to extend inside a datum hole of the roof of the vehicle. The datum structure defines an elongated channel extending through the datum structure and having an opening defined at a first surface of the base structure. The bracket assembly also includes a datum pin adapted to extend inside the elongated channel through the opening of the base structure.

Bracket assembly for mounting a LiDAR system to a vehicle

A center camera mirror system spoiler mounting for a vehicle that can include a spoiler inner panel, a spoiler outer panel and a camera assembly. The spoiler inner panel can be configured to be mounted onto an exterior panel of the vehicle and the spoiler outer panel can be connected to the spoiler inner panel. The spoiler outer panel can include an outer surface that is an exterior surface of the vehicle, a camera opening passing through the spoiler outer panel, and a first datum. The camera assembly can be fixed to the spoiler inner panel in a predetermined orientation with respect to the spoiler inner panel, and can include a lens, and a second datum engaging the first datum. The lens can be in a predetermined alignment with respect to the camera opening when the second datum engages the first datum.

Center camera mirror system spoiler mounting for vehicle, and tailgate assembly including same

A mounting system and method for a mirror assembly of a vehicle is provided. The mirror assembly includes a plate mounting portion formed along the body plate of the mirror assembly that includes provisions for secure attachment to a door sash of a vehicle. The mirror assembly also includes a base mounting portion formed along an underside of the swivel arm of the mirror assembly that includes provisions for secure attachment to a door skin of the vehicle.

Mounting system and method for exterior mirror

A sealing system and method for a mirror assembly of a vehicle is provided. The mirror assembly includes a wire harness assembly in which at least a first wire harness and a second wire harness are coupled together. The first wire harness is protected within a rigid encasing but for an exposed portion. The exposed portion permits freer movement of the internal pins in that area, which promotes a better fit with the adjacent second wire harness. In one example, a foam sheath can used to cover a portion of the wire harness assembly, which is then routed through a gasket. This arrangement is configured to prevent air leaks that might otherwise occur due to gapping between the first wire harness and the second wire harness.
