Methods, systems and devices for a check valve for deterring intrusion into downspouts include a body member having at least a first orifice and are configured to mount on a downspout, where the downspout is adapted to promote fluid flow in a single direction. Pivotably mounted on the body members are various valve members. The mounting arrangement can provide a closed position that substantially occludes the first orifice and a range of open positions when the valve member is pivoted with respect to the body member to open in the flow direction. In addition, at least one additional orifice can be provided in either the body member or the valve member to permit fluid flow irrespective of the position of the valve member.

Check valve for downspouts

A blood draining arrow for increasing lethality and enhancing a blood trail includes a shaft, an arrowhead, a fletching, and a nock. The arrowhead and the nock are coupled to and extend from a first end and a second end of the shaft, respectively. The fletching is coupled to and extends radially from the shaft proximate to the second end. A channel extends axially through the shaft from proximate to the first end to proximate to the second end. Each of a plurality of holes is positioned in the shaft and extends to the channel. Holes in a first section of the shaft that is inserted into flesh of an animal are configured for blood to enter. The blood flows through the channel to drain from holes that are positioned in a second section of the shaft to prevent clotting of the blood and to enhance a blood trail.

A check valve for deterring intrusion into drain pipes comprises a body member having at least a first orifice and configured to mount on a drain pipe wherein the drain pipe is adapted to promote fluid flow in a single direction. Pivotably mounted on said body member will be a valve member. A metal or plastic tube is formed with slots to establish a noise dampening coupling to isolate the head rail of a window covering from vibrations from a motor in the head rail. The noise dampening coupling can be coupled to the output gear of the motor and to an actuator in the head rail to couple the motor to the actuator while isolating the head rail from vibrations. Also, a non-rotatable noise dampening coupling can be interposed between the motor and head rail to further isolate the head rail from vibrations.

A hunting arrow having an elastomeric device attached to the inside of the hollow shaft of the hunting arrow is used for the tracking of game animals that have been struck with the hunting arrow. An inkjet printer uses large volume ink reservoir containers to supply ink to ink cartridges located on a movable print carriage. A communication link including tubing sections and quick disconnect fittings couples the large volume ink reservoir containers and the ink cartridges. The printer may be plumbed with more ink supply tubing sections than ink cartridges and ink reservoirs for the provision of different ink types. The changing of sets of large volume ink reservoir containers or sets of ink cartridges is more convenient with the use of quick disconnect fittings.

A monolithic inductor comprises an elongated substrate having opposite distal ends and, each end having an end cap extending radially from the respective end to support the substrate in spaced relation from a PC board, each end cap having a plurality of intersecting planar surfaces defining corners, an electrically conductive layer forming a winding on the substrate and extending between the opposite ends to provide a winding, and an electrically conductive soldering pad extending partially around at least some of the corners of said end caps at each end of the substrate in electrical contact with the conductive layer, each soldering pad providing a terminal on each of the intersecting planar surfaces.

An apparatus for holding a portable hard disk drive in a desk-top personal computer (PC) has a bay that fits into the 3.5' form-factor cavity which is formed in most IBM.RTM.-compatible PCs. The portable hard disk drive is disposed in a protective sleeve. A motor-driven carriage is reciprocably positioned within the bay, and the sleeve is advanced part way into the bay, until the carriage engages the sleeve. Then, the carriage automatically pulls the sleeve the rest of the way into the bay until the disk drive is operably engaged with the computer. When it is desired to eject the sleeve with disk drive, a button is pushed to cause the carriage to push the sleeve out of the bay, perhaps after a short delay time period to allow the disk drive to spin down prior to ejection. An external docking station and laptop computer adaptor are also disclosed.
