An outgassing shield () for a lamp socket () comprises a cup-shaped unit that fits over the end of the socket that penetrates a lamp reflector (), reducing the temperature upon the socket body and substantially eliminating outgassing. The elimination of the outgassing prevents deleterious buildup of outgassed materials on the reflector surface and the interior of the lens, thereby enhancing light output.

An electrical connector assembly is provided including first and second housings having ends configured to receive electrical contacts. The first and second housings are configured to be matable with one another to join corresponding electrical contacts. The electrical connector assembly includes a lever member having a cam arm received by the first housing and engaging the second housing as the lever member is rotated through a range of motion from an insertion position to an engaged position. The lever member connects the first and second housings to join corresponding electrical contacts when the lever member is rotated to the engaged position. The lever member has a position assurance tab received by the first housing.

Electrical connector assembly with connection assurance features

A connector module is provided that includes a first connector housing, a second connector housing and a connector positive assurance member. Insertion of the first housing into the second housing will cause a latching mechanism located within the assembled first and second housings to latch the housings together so that they can not be readily disengaged. When the first and second housings are fully engaged in this manner, the connector positive assurance member may be moved from a first position to a second position to assure complete engagement has been effected and to lock the housings together. If the first and second housings are not fully engaged, the connector positive assurance member can not be moved from such first position to such second position.

Connector module

A connector is provided that includes a first housing having a see-saw first latch element attached thereto. The first housing and first latch element are adapted for engagement with a mating second housing that includes a mating second latch element, respectively. A slider is provided that includes a hood, having a window, and a beam the distal end of that is engagable with the first latch element to prevent movement of the slider further towards the first latch element until the distal end is engaged by the second latch element. When the second latch element engages the distal end of the beam, the distal end is pivoted into the window of the hood. The slider may be moved so that the distal end resides into engagement with the second latch element only after the first and second latch elements have been fully engaged. When the distal end has been so positioned, the beam will prevent disengagement of the first and second latch elements.

Connector and connector assembly

A connector module is provided that includes a first connector housing, a second connector housing and a connector positive assurance member. Insertion of the first housing into the second housing will cause a latching mechanism located within the assembled first and second housings to latch the housings together so that they can not be readily disengaged. When the first and second housings are fully engaged in this manner, the connector positive assurance member may be moved from a first position to a second position to assure complete engagement has been effected and to lock the housings together. If the first and second housings are not filly engaged, the connector positive assurance member can not be moved from such first position to such second position.

A connector is provided which includes first and second insulative housings each of which includes first and second contacts, respectively, which may be electrically and mechanically connected and disconnected, in a connected mode and disconnected mode, respectively. The first insulative housing includes shorting bars which are spring biased into contact with the first contacts in the disconnected mode. The second insulative housing includes engagement posts which engage the shorting bars in a connected mode to disengage the shorting bars from the first contacts. An improved manner of mounting the shorting bars in the first insulative housing from the rear of such housing is provided. Each shorting bar is firmly held in place by the mating of a housing keeper within the first insulative housing and shorting bar latches.

An adapter is provided for electrically connecting a printed circuit board to an airbag accelerometer. The adapter includes a leadframe housing to which is joined a leadframe, as, for example, by embedding the leadframe within the leadframe housing during insert molding thereof. The leadframe includes connector tails which extend in a first direction for connection to a printed circuit board and facing segments which face in a second direction for connection to an airbag accelerometer. The first and second directions are angularly disposed relative to each other. An adjuster assembly which includes such an adjuster is also provided.

Adapter for connecting airbag accelerometer to a printed circuit board

A hollow component has a base and includes at least two electrical contacts mounted within the base. Each of the contacts has a first portion which projects exteriorly of the base and a second portion which projects interiorly of the base. The second portions each include a tine for receiving a fragile, planar article such as a thin, ceramic printed circuit board thereon. Shock-absorbing means are integrally formed with the contacts and are positioned intermediate the tines and the base. The shock-absorbing means can be in the form of a horizontal U-shaped bight.
