The engine, for example, may include a first engine component configured to be ohmically coupled to a common ground, a second engine component configured to be coupled to the first engine component, the second engine component comprising an insulative materially ohmically isolating the second engine component from the first engine component, the second engine component including an inclusion having a predetermined depth along a surface of the second engine component configured to be coupled to the first engine component, a third engine component configured to be coupled to the second engine component, and a spring clip configured to be ohmically coupled to the third engine component, wherein the spring clip is further configured to be disposed within the inclusion of the second engine component and to have a deflectable surface having an undeflected depth greater than the predetermined depth of the inclusion.

A turbocharger compressor includes a compressor housing having a housing wall that includes a shroud that defines a central air channel and a compressor inlet in fluid communication with the central channel and an inlet duct. It also includes a compressor wheel configured to draw air into the compressor inlet from the inlet duct and create a main airflow in the central air channel axially toward a compressor outlet. The compressor also includes a bypass channel that extends between an opening in the main channel located between the compressor inlet and compressor outlet proximate the compressor blades and the compressor inlet. The compressor also includes a deflector that includes a deflector surface that is configured to direct a bypass airflow in the bypass channel, and flowing in a direction from the main channel toward the compressor inlet, into the compressor inlet axially and radially inwardly toward the compressor wheel.

An internal combustion engine comprises an intake system to deliver a compressed intake charge thereto. A venturi assembly is disposed in the intake system and defines a venturi defining a low pressure zone 'Z' for the intake charge passing therethrough. An annular exhaust gas recirculation conduit distribution passage extends circumferentially about an inlet annulus of an intake manifold and receives diverted exhaust gas from an exhaust system for delivery to the intake charge through exhaust gas recirculation diffuser passages disposed at circumferentially spaced locations about the annular exhaust gas recirculation conduit distribution passage.

A band type clamp for securing together first and second pipe sections each having outwardly projecting flanges with opposing flange faces that extend about the circumference thereof is described. The band type clamp includes a conforming material disposed between the band type clamp and the outwardly projecting flanges and is configured to engage the outwardly projecting flanges and to exert an inwardly directed radial force thereon when the band type clamp is tightened from a first un-tightened position to a second tightened position and to radially pilot the outer surfaces and the first and second pipe sections relative to each other and the corresponding centerlines thereof.

A control system for an engine includes a restriction determination module and a valve control module. The restriction determination module determines a desired exhaust back pressure of the engine based on an exhaust flow rate of the engine. The valve control module selectively adjusts a valve position of an exhaust valve that restricts an exhaust flow of the engine based on the desired exhaust back pressure. The exhaust valve may include a valve body, a throttle plate, and an annular protrusion coupled to an inner surface of the valve body and protruding towards the throttle plate. The annular protrusion may abut a side of the throttle plate and may restrict fluid flow through an annular space between the throttle plate and the inner surface when the throttle plate is positioned in a rotational position transverse to a direction of fluid flow. A related method is also provided.
