A lubricant composition, a method for improving lubrication and a method for lubricating a machine. The lubricant composition includes a) a major amount of a base oil having a kinematic viscosity between 2 and 4 cSt at 100&#xb0; C.; and b) dioctyl phosphite in an amount providing from about 100 to about 1000 ppm phosphorus to the lubricant composition. The lubricant composition has a phosphorus weight ratio of component (b) to total phosphorus in the lubricant composition of from 0.4:1 to less than about 0.8:1.

Low viscosity transmission fluids with enhanced gear fatigue and frictional performance

A dispersant additive composition, a lubricant composition containing the dispersant additive, a transmission containing the dispersant additive, and a method of providing a versatile lubricating fluid. The dispersant includes a reaction product of a hydrocarbyl substituted carboxylic acid or anhydride and an amine. The reaction product has a nitrogen content up to 10,000 ppm by weight, and a boron plus phosphorus to nitrogen ((B+P)/N) weight ratio of from 0:1 to about 0.8:1. The dispersant additive composition is effective to provide an electrical conductivity to a lubricant composition containing the dispersant additive composition and a metal detergent of less than about 1700 pS/m.

Hybrid electric transmission fluid

A middle distillate fuel additive comprising the reaction product resulting from the combining of a hydrocarbyl succinic anhydride and a hydroxyamine. The lubricating properties of low sulfur-content middle distillate fuels, such as diesel, jet or bio-diesel fuels, can be significantly improved by inclusion therein of such additive compounds. The use of these middle distillate fuel additives makes it possible to avoid mechanical failure problems, such as fuel pump or injector failure, otherwise caused by inadequate fuel lubricity, while still retaining the environmental benefits of using a low sulfur fuel.

Fuel lubricity additives derived from hydrocarbyl succinic anhydrides and hydroxy amines, and middle distillate fuels containing same

Injector deposits in a direct injection gasoline engine are reduced by providing as fuel for the operation of said direct injection engine a fuel composition comprising a fuel-soluble compound having the formula (I): wherein Rand Rare independently Calkyl, Ris a radical of the formula CHwherein m is an integer of 2 to 6, Rand Rare each independently (i) hydrogen (ii) Calkyl, wherein Ris selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and Calkyls and Ris selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and Calkyl, (iv) wherein Ris a saturated or unsaturated, linear, branched or cyclic, Chydrocarbyl group or (v) wherein Rand Rtogether with the nitrogen atom to which they are bonded, form a cyclic ring in which further hetero atoms.

Fuels compositions for direct injection gasoline engines

A process for the prediction and the optimization of the output of a plant producing products form incoming materials. The incoming materials are classified according to various physical characteristics and costs. The desired or ordered products are also classified according to price and physical requirements. The incoming materials information and the product information is entered into a database which is accessible by a computing device. The computing device then calculates the optimal production process by calculating a plurality of production cycles and selecting the cycle with the optimum profitability. The computing device is programmed with non-linear equations derived from a regressive analysis of data collected from samples of incoming materials and products.

Method of predicting and optimizing production

Reaction products of i) a hydroxyl-group containing compound; ii) an amine-group containing compound, wherein component ii) is different from component i); and iii) a hydrocarbyl-substituted succinic acylating agent provide improved detergency as well as improved lubricity to hydrocarbon fuels. Compositions comprising a hydrocarbon fuel and the reaction products are also disclosed.

Fuel dispersants with enhanced lubricity

Reaction products of i) a compound containing at least one primary or secondary amine group and at least one hydroxyl group; ii) a polyamine containing at least two amine groups wherein at least one of the amine groups is a primary or secondary amine, and wherein component ii) is different from i); iii) an alkyl-substituted hydroxyaromatic compound, and iv) an aldehyde, provide improved detergency as well as improved lubricity to hydrocarbon fuels. Compositions comprising a hydrocarbon fuel and the reaction products are also disclosed.

Mannich dispersants with enhanced lubricity

Mannich reaction products are disclosed as additives for hydrocarbon fuels. The Mannich reaction products are added to a low sulfur content, middle-distillate, compression ignition fuels in an amount effective to improve the lubricity of the fuel, typically within the range of from about 10 to about 1000 parts of additive per million parts fuel (ppm w/w), and thereby reduce the wear occasioned upon the fuel pump. Compositions comprising a hydrocarbon fuel and the reaction product are also disclosed.

Middle distillate fuels with enhanced lubricity comprising the reaction product of a phenol formaldehyde resin, an aldehyde and an amino alcohol

A diesel fuel additive composition comprising a mixture of a dispersant and a carrier, preferably a liquid carrier fluid. The dispersant comprises at least one member of the group consisting of polyalkylene succinimides and polyalkylene amines, the polyalkylene succinimides being the reaction product of polyalkylene succinic anhydride and a polyamine, the polyalkylene amine being the reaction product of a polyalkylene moiety and amine selected from the group consisting of monoamine and polyamine. The carrier comprises at least one oxygenate selected from the group consisting of polyalkoxylated ether, polyalkoxylated phenol, polyalkoxylated ester and polyalkoxylated amine. The additive composition reduces injector deposits in internal combustion-compression ignition engines. Diesel fuels containing a major portion of a hydrocarbon-based compression ignition fuel and a minor portion of the diesel fuel additive composition, as well as methods of making and using these diesel fuels are also included in the present invention.
