A high voltage high current transmission line for transmitting high voltage high current energy in the 10 kV and 200,000 A range from a power source to an end item to which the power is delivered. The high voltage high current transmission line includes two generally parallel configured conductive plates with an overlapping dielectric layering configuration. Each of the conductive plates are encompassed by a first dielectric material, both of the conductive plates encompassed by a second dielectric material, and the conductive plates are encompassed by an outer dielectric sheathing. The dielectric layering configuration may also include a dielectric material applied to the edges of the conductive plates. At one or both ends of the high voltage high current transmission line, a plug assembly may be provided for connecting to the power source and/or the discharge device. The high voltage high current transmission line may also include an exposed conductive plate surface with a staggered configuration such that the exposed surfaces of the conductive plates do not overlap.

A fuse state indicator for a cascading fuse multiple discharge device including a fiber optic cable having a first end, a second end, and an intermediate segment. The intermediate segment is configured for attachment to a fuse assembly of a fuse panel where the fuse panel is arranged for physically severing the intermediate segment of the fiber optic cable in response to discharge of the fuse assembly.

A device and method of use of a multiple discharge panel for a multiple-discharge, high energy electric device. The device generally uses a panel for a multiple-discharge, high energy electric device that includes a plurality of fuse assemblies constructed in a cascading arrangement in a common panel. Each fuse assembly provides protection from a single high energy discharge pulse and includes a structure defining a cavity. The fuse assembly further contains a resistor made of components that explode when subjected to a large pulse of power to temporarily interrupt and dissipate the large pulse of power. The structure defining the cavity is shaped to deform in response to explosion of the resistor such that a new connection to a remaining one of the plurality of fuse assemblies is established.

A system for stowing and deploying a mortar from a transport vehicle employs a hoist mechanism, a support frame, a pair of guide arms and a barrel-support strut attached to a transport vehicle. The support frame is adapted to be temporarily engaged with the mortar barrel, the base plate and the pair of stabilizer arms of the mortar to prevent relative motion between them during stowing and deployment. The hoist mechanism has a lift arm that pivots between a retracted and a deployed position. One end of the lift arm is hook shaped for detachable engagement with the support frame. A pair of guide arms extend in spaced parallel relation from the rear of the vehicle and serve to guide a trajectory of the mortar as it is being stowed or lowered to the ground.

Mortar deployment and storage system

A dual action retention pawl for securing ammunition in a breech loading gun having a bore along a longitudinal axis of a barrel of the gun and a breech opening with a moveable breech block at a rear of the bore. The dual action retention pawl includes a base, a pawl arm, and an activation arm operably attached to the base. The pawl arm pivots to a retracted position in response to ammunition engaging the activation arm when the ammunition is loaded into the breech opening and returns to a retention position once the ammunition is loaded to retain the ammunition within the barrel of the gun. The pawl arm pivots to the retracted position in response to the breech block engaging the activation arm when the breech block is moved to close the breech opening.

Propellant retention device

A primer feed mechanism for automatically feeding unfired primers to, and extracting fired primers from, an artillery piece. A magazine having a rotatable cylindrical drum carrying a plurality of primer cartridges is detachably mounted adjacent the breach block of an artillery piece. A user actuable release handle controls movement of a reciprocable mounted camplate. Movement of the camplate in one direction indexes the rotatable drum to align a fresh primer cartridge with the firing chamber of the artillery piece. Such movement of the camplate also drives a rearwardly positioned bolt toward the breach block of the artillery piece thereby driving the unfired primer cartridge into the firing chamber. Movement of the camplate in the opposite direction causes the bolt to extract the fired primer cartridge from the firing chamber and back into the magazine drum.
