It is well known that fireworks are a fundamental theatrical experience for many people. However, there are individuals and certain settings that cannot experience traditional fireworks—concerns with flammability from pyrotechnic materials often leads to a ban on fireworks in areas prone to drought, for example. For areas that cannot make use of traditional fireworks, there is a need for a suitable replacement. Discussed herein are multiple approaches to emulating a traditional fireworks show, and in a manner that does not pose a burning hazard, can be used in residential areas (as well as more traditional areas), and can emulate the look and feel of traditional fireworks. Also discussed are additional features which may not be common to some fireworks shows, but enhance a theatrical experience nonetheless at a lower operating cost.

There exists a number of youth development programs centered on sports programming. Some of these programs operate on a platform of revitalizing neighborhood spaces to improve community engagement by creating a space for youth to enjoy sports. Oftentimes these neighborhood spaces include restrictions or the surrounding community has needs (like lighting and seating) which are unmet or under-met. Said mobile network concealment system or assembly improves accessibility to encased mobile network devices well after installation in a manner such that (i) materials can be tailored, colored, molded, or otherwise formed or manipulated to be aesthetically pleasing, and (ii) a technician has the ability to remove, alter, or otherwise modify or access the devices in a way that allows the technician to service or troubleshoot the mobile network devices in situ (i.e., without removing the concealment system).

Disclosed herein are means and methods by which unrelated or outside entities may add value to strategic partnerships with mobile network service providers&#x2014;beyond providing preexisting elevating structures. In the state of the art, mobile network service providers must rely upon multiple technicians using multiple tools to pinpoint where a tower or pole exists, and must perform precise horizontal and vertical aiming of each mobile network device when elevated and mounted at a particular position on said tower or pole. Said means and methods are directed to reducing the time and cost associated with this onsite commissioning of mobile network devices by factory wiring and factory aiming at least some of these devices in a commensurate fashion to factory wiring and factory aiming of disparate devices such as lighting fixtures.

Presented is a design of modular LED lighting fixture whereby the steps of light directing and light redirecting are independent, but cooperative, so to promote a compact fixture design with low effective projected area (EPA), good thermal properties, and a selectable degree of glare control. A lighting system employing a plurality of said fixtures is highly customizable yet has the potential to be pre-aimed and pre-assembled prior to shipping, which reduces the potential for installation error while preserving the customized nature of the fixtures.

Operating costs, as well as capital and installation costs, can be reduced by designing the lighting system for operation of individual light sources at a first 'normal' operating power for a majority of the time but having the ability to boost or increase operating power for 'boosted' or increased light output for the same light sources of the system for a minority of cumulative operating time of the light sources. &#x201c;&#x201d;In one aspect, performance data about the LED light sources is evaluated relative to whether or not the light sources will have a predicted life expectancy on the order of the entire lighting system life expectancy. Operating power levels for boosted and normal LED lumen outputs are selected to comport with predictably meeting or exceeding lighting system life expectancy.

Through the envisioned compensation methodology and effective luminaire design, a relatively constant light level can be assured for a predetermined number of operating hours (possibly longer); this is true even if operating conditions change, known behavior of LEDs proves untrue over untested period of time, or some other condition occurs which would otherwise cause end-of-life prematurely and prevent the system from meeting the desired number of operating hours.

A lighting fixture is presented comprising a plurality of modular apparatuses wherein each modular apparatus comprises one or more light sources and one or more light directing or light redirecting devices. Methods of adjusting one or more components of said lighting fixture about one, two, or three axes are presented whereby the lighting needs of a target area&#x2014;even one of complex shape&#x2014;may be addressed and in a manner that promotes compact fixture design with low effective projected area (EPA) without sacrificing transmission efficiency of the light sources.

A method of sensing magnitude of lumen depreciation not only of a lamp of a lighting fixture, but other factors, by sensing a relative light level external of the lighting fixture to derive not only lamp lumen depreciation but total lumen depreciation from the fixture. An apparatus of monitoring light level of one or more lighting fixtures comprises a sensor positioned external of the lighting fixture(s), a comparator adapted to compare a measured actual lumen output signal from the sensor to a pre-set reference or threshold lumen output value. An error signal is generated by the comparator if the comparison indicates actual lumen output to have dropped below the reference or threshold lumen output. An alarm or communication can be actuated by the error signal to instruct corrective action to ensure relatively constant light levels to be maintained for the lighting system over time, thus providing ongoing assurance to the end user of proper system operation.
