Voltage sensitive dyes comprising boron and related compositions and methods are provided. In some embodiments, a voltage sensitive dye comprises an electron acceptor comprising boron. The electron acceptor may be attached (e.g., covalently) to at least one electron donating group and at least one polar group. For instance, the electron acceptor may comprise optionally substituted boron dipyrromethene (e.g., optionally substituted 4,4-difluoro-4-bora-3a,4a-diaza-s-indacene). The point of attachment and chemical nature of the electron donating group(s) and polar group(s) may be selected to impart beneficial properties to the voltage sensitive dye. For instance, the voltage sensitive dye may have an extended difference in the dipole moment between the ground and electronic states due at least in part to the position of the electron donating group(s). The voltage sensitive dyes, described herein, may have high specificity, high signal to noise ratio, fast responsivity, high voltage sensitivity, high photostability, and/or high brightness.

A method and system host a modified game of baccarat, the modified game of baccarat comprising a player position hand and a banker position hand that are not in competition with each other in the modified game, the player position and the banker position receiving exactly two playing cards from two separate original randomized decks of 52 playing cards. The method includes detecting placement of an initial wager from one or more participants, the initial wager relating to the appearance in either or both of the player position hand and/or the banker position hand at the conclusion of initial delivery of the exactly two cards to the player position hand and the dealer position hand; and initially resolving the wager on the modified game of baccarat according to a paytable with multiples against the wager.

Electronic interface, wagering systems and methods for wagering games

A safety mud flap for trucks or other vehicles includes a plurality of integral lights. A first set of lights is configured as a series of sequentially sized outlines of directional arrows, preferably yellow or amber in color, and is activated as a turn signal (e.g., with the arrow outlines going from smaller to larger), or as hazard lights. A second set of lights is in the form of a larger outline of a directional arrow configured around the first set of arrows, is preferably white in color, and is illuminated only when the vehicle is backing up. An audible backup beeper or alarm is preferably co-located within the series of arrows, and is also activated when backing up. A third set of lights is configured as a running light/brake light in the form of a separate red circle or oval preferably located near the bottom of the mud flap. Each set of lights is connected to the corresponding circuit in the vehicle's wiring system.

An apparatus for teaching proper technique for the Heimlich or Abdominal Thrust maneuver. When the Heimlich or Abdominal Thrust maneuver is applied to the apparatus by a user, an indicator is provided to show the user whether proper technique was used. The apparatus can take the form of a wearable garment or a form, either of which may mimic the shape of a person. The apparatus is scalable, and may be made to mimic the shapes of persons of various sizes, including infants and animals, if desired. Indicators can be included to measure the effectiveness of other techniques often used in conjunction with the Heimlich or Abdominal Thrust maneuver.

The invented four-player chess game includes a plurality of distinguishable sets of playing pieces including pieces equivalent to pawns, rooks, knights, bishops, queens and kings. It also includes a board having a main playing area made from a square matrix of eight-by-eight alternately colored playing spaces with two additional rows of eight alternately colored playing spaces adjacent each side of the main playing area. The game is played by placing each player's set of playing pieces on the game board so that each different set occupies two rows adjacent one side of the main playing area in a conventional chess arrangements. Each player moves, in turn, one of his playing pieces anywhere on the game board according to standard chess rules, except the pieces equivalent to pawns may move up to three spaces forward on each of those pieces' initial move. Playing pieces are captured according to standard chess rules, except the pieces equivalent to pawns initially located at the ends of the first additional rows of alternately colored playing spaces adjacent the main playing area may not move diagonally to capture another piece equivalent to a pawn that has not moved. When more than two players are playing and remain in the game, players are eliminated when their king is captured and actually removed from the board, at which time all the remaining playing pieces in the set of the removed king are taken off the board. Play continues until only two players remain, at which time the game ends when one player checkmates the other player's king or when neither player can checkmate the other player's king.

An improved radio and cooler incorporates a radio receiver unit into an indentation in the front wall of a four-walled, portable insulated cooler or ice chest. A separate recharageable battery pack, connected by wires to the radio receiver unit, is integrated into the rear side of the lid of the cooler, on the opposite side of the cooler's center of gravity from the radio receiver unit, and thus acts as a counterbalance to the radio and improves the overall balance of the cooler. In addition, the radio's antenna is similarly positioned opposite the center of gravity from the radio receiver unit, on the upper rear side of the cooler lid, further enhancing the counterbalancing effect.
