A pitman arm removal tool and method of removing a pitman arm from a steering box shaft is provided. The pitman arm removal tool includes a puller arm for engaging a lower surface of the pitman arm. A lever arm is disposed a second surface of the pitman arm, in substantially spaced opposed relation with the puller arm. A linking arm connects a first end of the lever arm to a first end of the puller arm, the linking arm being pivotally connected to the lever arm and the puller arm. A bolt assembly connects a second end of the lever arm to a second end of the puller arm, the bolt assembly being adjustable to draw the puller arm closer to the lever arm, thereby urging the pitman arm to traverse the steering box shaft and out of engagement with the steering box shaft spline.

Pitman arm removal tool and method

A pulley removal system used to remove a pulley attached to an internal combustion engine includes a plurality of puller jaw members adapted to be detachably and radially connected to a hub member. Each jaw member comprises an elongated body having a top surface, an underside surface, and first and second opposed ends. The first end is adapted to be attached to the hub member, and the second end has hooked tip free to grasp a flange of a pulley. The hooked tip has a terminal edge with predetermined dimensions that enable it to fit within different sized recesses in the flange of the different pulleys and an underside arcuate surface extending from the terminal edge and merging with the underside surface to form a bite that receives the flange when the terminal end fits within the recess in the flange. The thickness of the elongated body gradually decreases between the first and second opposed ends so the underside surface inclines towards the hooked tip and the thickness of the body is greater near the first end than near the second end.

Pulley removal system, method, kits and components thereof

A seal removal tool includes a hollow cylindrical member, an advancing device, and a extracting device. The cylindrical member has an open, circular first end with a barbed knife-edge that has a perimeter with a diameter substantially equal to an inside diameter of an inner circular edge of an annular seal fitting snuggly around an exposed end of a shaft. A second end of the cylindrical member is partially closed with an enlarged threaded opening therein. The advancing device comprises a first threaded elongated rod element and a pressing portion for pressing against the partially closed second end. The extracting device comprises a second threaded elongated rod element having an enlarged tip for engaging the exposed end of the shaft after disengaging the advancing device. The enlarged tip is configured to screw into an enlarged threaded opening in the cylindrical member and to advance axially and press against the exposed end of the shaft as the second threaded elongated rod element is rotated.

Seal removal tool and method

A tool removes from, or inserts into, an arm of a wheel mounting for an automotive vehicle a bushing. The tool includes a press member configured to grip the arm while overlying the location in the arm for the bushing. A screw element passes through a portion of the press member and engages a pressing cup with an outer rim that abuts an end of the bushing as the screw is manually rotated. The press member, screw element, and pressing cup upon being aligned and assembled with the press member gripping the arm and the rim of the pressing cup bearing against the end of the bushing, the screw element is rotated to apply a force to the end of the bushing as the screw element advances in the direction of the arm.

Puller jaw

A holding tool is used to connect or disconnect a water pump pulley and a fan clutch. The water pump pulley is attached by a threaded shaft to a connector on the fan clutch, and the pulley has at least a pair of fasteners each with an exposed fastener head that extends from the pulley's surface which is next to the fan clutch. A head of the tool is inserted into a narrow space between the pulley's surface and the fan clutch. The tool head is narrow enough to fit into this space. This tool head includes a hook element at an end of a straight edge lever element. While grasping a fastener head of one fastener with the hook element and engaging a fastener head of another fastener with the straight edge lever element, a second tool is inserted into the narrow space to grasp the connector on the fan clutch. While both tools are engaged, one or both the tools are turned to disconnect or connect the threaded shaft of water pump pulley and the connector on a fan clutch.
