A method for repairing a worn portion in an inner diameter surface of a bore of a cast iron part is disclosed. The inner diameter surface of the bore may have an original surface geometry prior to wear. The method may comprise forming a crescent-shaped pocket in the inner diameter surface of the bore to remove the worn portion, installing an insert in the crescent-shaped pocket, and post-machining the insert to form a crescent-shaped insert that is flush with the original surface geometry of the bore inner surface diameter.

Repair of cast iron bore inner diameter surfaces

A cutting tool for removing material from an engine block structure includes an engine block structure support sized to receive the engine block structure, a platform having a longitudinal dimension and a width dimension, and a cutting assembly supported on the platform and movable in a longitudinal direction along an adjustable rail, and movable in a direction approximately orthogonal to the longitudinal direction, the cutting assembly including a rotary cutter. The cutting tool also includes an alignment mechanism including an engagement structure configured to secure the cutting assembly to one of a plurality of predetermined positions on the adjustable rail, and an adjustment mechanism for moving the adjustable rail and cutting assembly in the longitudinal direction to position the rotary cutter to a desired position.

A method of remanufacturing a prechamber assembly includes determining a width W of an original circumferential weld bead that extends around and joins a proximal end of an outer peripheral wall of a prechamber housing and a distal end of an outer peripheral wall of a body assembly, cutting through the weld bead in order to separate the prechamber housing from the body assembly, and removing material from an outer peripheral portion of a distal end portion of the body assembly. The method includes removing the material in an axial direction parallel to the central axis of the prechamber assembly for a distance that is from 2.5-3 times the width W.

Method of remanufacturing a prechamber assembly

A remanufactured sparkplug includes a housing, an insulator within the housing, and first and second electrodes. The first electrode and the second electrode form a plurality of spark gaps at a plurality of new spark gap locations, and a plurality of spark-induced erosions are formed in the second electrode at a plurality of former spark gap locations that are circumferentially offset from the new spark gap locations.
