A method of controlling a plurality of light fixtures. The method includes determining first light outputs for each of the plurality of light fixtures. The method also includes determining a first spectrum of light reflected off of a surface. The method further includes determining a first difference between the first light outputs and desired light outputs for each of the plurality of light fixtures. The method also includes determining a second difference between the first spectrum of light reflected off of the surface and a desired spectrum of light reflected off of the surface. The method further includes calculating an updated output spectrum for the plurality of light fixtures based at least in part on the first difference and the second difference. The method also includes determining a second set of light source output values based at least in part on the updated output spectrum.

System and method for controlling a plurality of light fixture outputs

A method of controlling a plurality of light fixtures. The method includes detecting the light outputs of a plurality of light fixtures and detecting a reflection of light from a surface. The light outputs and the reflection of light are analyzed. Differences among the light outputs of the plurality of light fixtures are determined, and a difference between the reflection of light and a desired reflection of light is determined. New or updated values for output color, output brightness, and/or output spectra are determined for the plurality of light fixtures such that the light outputs of the light fixtures are consistent and correspond to a desired light output, and such that the reflection of light corresponds to the desired reflection of light. Each of the plurality of light fixtures is then driven using respective light source output values to produce the desired light outputs.

Systems and methods of controlling the output of a light fixture. The light fixture includes a plurality of light sources and a controller. The controller is configured to receive a first input control value for a first control parameter and a first input control value for a second control parameter. The controller is also configured to determine a first difference between the first input control value for the first control parameter and a second input control value for the first control parameter stored in a memory and determine a second difference between the first input control value for the second control parameter and a second input control value for the second control parameter stored in the memory. The controller is also configured to set a slew time based on the first determined difference when the first determined difference is greater than the second determined difference and based on the second determined difference when the second determined difference is greater than the first determined difference.

Systems and methods of controlling the output of a light fixture

Systems and methods of controlling the output of an LED light fixture. The LED light fixture includes a plurality of light sources and a controller. The controller is configured to receive a first set of input data and determine a difference between the first set of input data and a second set of data stored in memory. The controller is also configured to set a slew time based on the determined difference and control the output of the light fixture based on the slew time. The slew time is inversely related to the determined difference between the first set of input data and the second set of data, and the slew time corresponds to the amount of time that the output of the light fixture is to take to transition from a present output of the light fixture to a new output of the light fixture.

Systems and methods for controlling the spectral content of the output of a light fixture. The method of one embodiment includes driving the output of a light fixture to a target color and controlling the spectral content of the output of the light fixture. For example, a desired color is inputted using a color control methodology. A set of light source output intensity values that produce the desired color are identified, and then the light sources are driven to the identified output intensity values. A user is able to control the spectral content of the output of the light fixture by modifying the output intensity value of one or more of the light sources. After modifying the output intensity values, the color control and matching technique is used to identify a new set of output intensity values that maintain the previous target color but incorporate the changes in spectral content.

System and method for controlling the spectral content of an output of a light fixture

Systems and methods for controlling an output of a luminaire. The luminaire uses stored spectral information for light sources within the luminaire to determine a coordinate for each light source within a color space. A desired output color is also converted to a coordinate within the color space. The distance between the desired output color coordinate and each of the coordinates corresponding to the light sources is calculated to select initial control values for the light sources. The initial control values for each light source are individually modified by a step size value, the total output of the luminaire is calculated and converted to a coordinate within the color space, and the distance between the total luminaire output coordinate and the desired color coordinate is calculated. The control values for the light sources are iteratively modified until the luminaire output coordinate is within a threshold value of the desired color output.

System and method for color creation and matching

Systems and methods for controlling an output of a light fixture. A light fixture of one construction includes four or more light sources and is configured to produce an output that mimics the color temperature changes of an ideal black-body radiator based on one or more input parameters. The input parameters correspond to, for example, a desired target color and an intensity for the desired target color. A white point setting is determined based on the one or more input parameters and a relationship between the one or more input parameters and the color temperature of an ideal black-body radiator. A color temperature transform is selected based on the white point color temperature setting, and is used to determine a color coordinate corresponding to a modified target color. A set of light source output values corresponding to the modified target color are identified, and the light sources are driven to the identified output values.
