An electrochemical sensor incorporates a ferrocenophane which is a compound with at least one bridging group covalently attached to and connecting the two cyclopentadiene rings associated with the same iron atom. This bridging group maybe tetramethylene. As compared to an equivalent sensor with ferrocene, the tolerance of elevated temperature is improved and so is the working life at ambient temperature.

Antibodies, uses thereof and conjugates thereof

A process for determining a content of hydrogen in a fluid medium includes contacting the fluid medium with a sensor. The sensor has a housing enclosing a chamber containing an ionic liquid electrolyte, a window which is permeable to hydrogen and positioned in an opening in the housing, and electrodes in contact with the ionic liquid electrolyte in the chamber. Hydrogen is allowed to pass through the window from the fluid medium into the electrolyte and the sensor is heated. Temperature and pressure of the fluid medium is determined and electrical potential is applied to the electrodes. The method also includes measuring current flow. The sensor can be used to observe hydrogen concentration by voltammetry. The method and sensor may be used for measuring downhole hydrogen content, monitoring fiber-optic cables for damage by hydrogen, corrosion monitoring, and in small-scale process plants where hydrogen is part of a gas stream.

Electrochemical hydrogen sensor

A sensor for hydrogen in a fluid medium has a chamber for electrolyte with a window which is selectively permeable to hydrogen to allow hydrogen to pass from the fluid medium under test into the electrolyte in the chamber. A plurality of electrodes in contact with the ionic liquid electrolyte are used to observe hydrogen concentration by voltammetry. The electrolyte is an ionic liquid. Applications where such a sensor may be used include a wellbore tool for measuring the content of hydrogen in a subterranean fluid, monitoring of fiber-optic cables for damage by hydrogen, corrosion monitoring, and small-scale process plant where hydrogen is part of a gas stream.

A Li/CFx primary battery having a lithium-based anode and a fluorinated carbon cathode. The fluorinated carbon cathode includes fluorinated carbon nanoparticles. The structure and size distribution of the carbon precursor carbon nanotubes are configured to provide improved battery performance. The fluorinated carbon nanoparticles can be formed by fluorinating carbon nanoparticles using a fluorine-based reactive gas at a temperature in the range from 300 to 600&#xb0; C., and the fluorinated carbon nanoparticles can further be used to form the cathode of the primary battery. Producing the Li/CFx primary batter can also include heating the fluorinated carbon nanoparticles under an inert atmosphere before the fluorinated carbon nanoparticles are used to form the cathode of the primary battery.

Methods of producing a lithium carbon fluoride primary battery

A sensor for monitoring COin a fluid regardless of the phase properties of the fluid, i.e., regardless of whether the fluid contacting the window is a liquid water-based phase, a liquid oil-based phase, a mixture of liquid water and liquid oil-based phases, or a gas phase. The sensor includes an internal reflection window for contacting with the fluid. A mid-infrared light source directs a beam of mid-infrared radiation into the window and the beam is internal reflected at an interface between the window and the fluid. The reflected beam is passed through three narrow bandpass filters which preferentially transmit mid-infrared radiation over bands of wavelengths corresponding to absorbance peaks of water, oil and CO. Mid-infrared carbon dioxide sensor

An apparatus comprises a main processor to execute a main stream of program instructions, two or more checker processors to execute respective checker streams of program instructions in parallel with each other, the checker streams corresponding to different portions of the main stream executed by the main processor, and error detection circuitry to detect an error when a mismatch is detected between an outcome of a given portion of the main stream executed on the main processor and an outcome of the corresponding checker stream executed on one of the plurality of checker processors. This approach enables high performance main processorsto be checked for errors with lower circuit area and power consumption overhead than a dual-core lockstep technique.

A sensor for monitoring a species which is a component of a fluid. The sensor includes an internal reflection window which, in use, is in direct contact with the fluid. The sensor further includes a mid-infrared light source which directs a beam of mid-infrared radiation into said window for attenuated internal reflection at an interface between the window and the fluid. The sensor further includes a first narrow bandpass filter which preferentially transmits mid-infrared radiation over a band of wavelengths corresponding to an absorbance peak of the species. The sensor further includes an infrared detector which detects filtered mid-infrared radiation transmitted through the first filter and a processor for measuring the intensity of the detected mid-infrared radiation transmitted through the first filter, and determines therefrom an amount of the species in the fluid.

Mid-infrared sensor

A main processorexecutes a main program and has an associated cache memory. Event detection circuitrydetects events consequent upon execution of the main program and indicative of data to be used by the main processor. One or more programmable further processorsis triggered to execute a further program by the events detected by the event detection circuitry. An integrated approach for cleaning an active surface of a petrochemical sensor. Sensors in the petrochemical industry are often deployed in locations where they are prone to fouling. By heating the active surface fouling substances may be removed from the active surface. Heating the surface above a supercritical point of a fluid being sensed may create a fluid that may serve to clean the active surface. Limiting the duration of the applied heating and/or pulsing the heating may mitigate adverse effects of use of high temperatures. A doped active surface, such as a doped diamond window may be designed to have conductive areas in the window that may be used for resistive heating of the window.

Active surface cleaning for a sensor

A narrow bandpass filter that may be used in a mid-infrared sensor for monitoring a species, which may be a component of a fluid or a solid material. The filter comprises a cavity comprising a low refractive index material. By providing a high ratio of low refractive index material in the filter with respective to high refractive index material, the filter is configured so that wavelength transmission remains constant with varying temperature. Materials used for the low and/or high refractive index provide a temperature invariant filter that transmits mid-infrared spectra without serious degradation.
