A fluid circulator and temperature regulator apparatus for use in an electrophoresis process with a sequencing cell including a cooling jacket having an inlet and an outlet, the apparatus comprising an inlet adapted to be connected to the cooling jacket outlet, an outlet adapted to be connected to the cooling jacket inlet, a reservoir having an inlet, an outlet and a vent, a heat exchanger having an inlet and an outlet, a pump having an inlet and an outlet, the reservoir, the heat exchanger and the pump being fluidly connected in a flow path having an upstream end and a downstream end, with the reservoir being downstream of the pump, and valves operable in a first mode for connecting the downstream end of the flow path with the outlet port and for connecting the inlet port with the upstream end of the flow path, and operable in a second mode for connecting the downstream end of the flow path with the upstream end the flow path internally of the apparatus such that fluid flows from the downstream end of the flow path to the upstream end of the flow path without flowing to the outlet.

Fluid circulator and temperature regulator

A transilluminator comprising a housing having therein a UV-transmissible window and a UV light source supported within the housing for transmitting UV light through the window. A surface within the housing reflects an image of the light source through the window so that the light source appears at the window to be more than one light source.

Transilluminator

A transilluminator including a housing with a top wall having a UV-transmissible window and an upwardly extending projection. A UV light source is supported within the housing for transmitting UV light through the window and a UV-blocking cover with a hinge assembly is provided for movement of the cover between a blocking position and a non-blocking position. The hinge assembly has an undercut, and the protector plate includes a rearward portion which extends into the undercut when the plate is positioned over the window. The plate also includes a forward portion having an aperture through which the projection extends when the plate is positioned over the window. The plate is secured to the top wall by sliding the rearward portion of the plate into the undercut and then lowering the forward portion of the plate so that the projection extends into the aperture. The plate is removed by raising the forward portion of the plate so that the projection is removed from the aperture and then sliding the rearward portion of the plate out of the undercut.

A fluid circulator and temperature regulator apparatus for use in an electrophoresis process with a sequencing cell including a cooling jacket having an inlet and an outlet, the apparatus being adapted to be connected to the cooling jacket inlet and outlet, and the apparatus comprising a reservoir, a pump for circulating cooling fluid through the cooling jacket, and a heat exchanger for regulating the temperature of the cooling fluid, the apparatus being operable for filling and draining the reservoir, for degasifying fluid in the reservoir, and for filling and draining the cell.
