A method for precision collaborative targeting includes determining information indicative of a current location and of a known remote location. A first distance is determined from the current location to the known remote location. A sensor is slewed towards an unknown remote location, the sensor being initially directed from the current location to the known remote location. The distance from the current location to the unknown remote location is measured. Information indicative of the location of the unknown remote location is determined from the amount of slewing and the distance from the current location to the unknown remote location.

System and method for precision collaborative targeting

A system target location includes one or more sensors operable to determine a location of a target and generate a set of coordinates corresponding to the target. The system further includes a system controller operable to receive one or more sets of coordinates from the one or more sensors, generate a combined estimate of the target location, and validate that each of the sets of coordinates correspond to the same target.

Methods and systems for locating targets

In one embodiment, detecting a target includes directing a laser beam towards an area and detecting the laser beam reflected from the area. Whether the received laser beam comprises an optically augmented reflection indicating retro-reflection from a target is determined. The target indicates presence of an explosive device. The target is detected if the received laser beam comprises the optically augmented reflection.

Detecting a target using an optical augmentation sensor

In one embodiment of the disclosure, an explosive device detection system includes a thermal imaging camera and at least one radio frequency receiver that is coupled to a signal processing circuit. The thermal imaging camera is operable to produce a first electrical signal indicative of thermal energy radiated by an explosive device. The at least one radio frequency receiver is operable to produce at least one second electrical signal indicative of electro-magnetic energy emitted by the explosive device. The signal processing circuit is configured to combine the first electrical signal and the at least one second electrical signal on a display such that the explosive device is aligned on the display.
