The ambulatory medical device includes at least one sensor configured to acquire sensor data descriptive of patient motion and at least one processor coupled to the at least one sensor. The at least one processor is configured to detect the patient motion from the sensor data, and to classify the patient motion.

An ambulatory medical device comprises: a sensing component to be disposed on a patient for detecting a physiological signal of the patient; and monitoring and self-test circuitry configured for detecting a triggering event and initiating one or more self-tests based on detection of the triggering event. Systems and methods for testing a medical device

A system is provided for integrating at least one portable computing device with a resuscitative medical device such as a defibrillator. The system may include a carrying case coupled to the resuscitative medical device. The carrying case may include a storage space for the at least one portable computing device and a wireless charging system for charging the at least one portable computing device. The system may be configured to enable secure data transfer between each of the devices, including data communication and data storage. A processor of the resuscitative medical device may be configured to activate the wireless charging system and charge the at least one portable computing device under certain circumstances. The processor may further be configured to prioritize or optimize charging and data transfer between the resuscitative medical device and each of multiple portable computing devices.

Some embodiments of the current disclosure are directed toward defibrillation and defibrillation equipment, and more particularly, an automated external defibrillator (AED) and a non-clinical power adapter therefor. In some embodiments, an AED may include an electrical connector to receive a battery pack, at least one capacitor to store energy, an electrotherapy delivery circuit to deliver the energy externally as electrotherapy, at least one discharge circuit to internally discharge energy stored in the capacitor(s), a non-clinical power adapter to be received by the electrical connector, and at least one processor. The processor(s) may determine whether the non-clinical power adapter is electrically coupled to the electrical connector, determine whether the automated external defibrillator recognizes the non-clinical power adapter, and/or enable power to be supplied to the automated external defibrillator from the non-clinical power adapter if the automated external defibrillator recognizes the non-clinical power adapter.

Among other things, we describe a system that includes a first medical device for treating a patient at an emergency care scene, the first medical device including a processor and a memory configured to detect a request for a connection between the first medical device and a second medical device for treating the patient at the emergency care scene, the request for connection including an identifier of the second medical device, responsive to receiving the request for connection, enabling a wireless communication channel to be established between the first medical device and the second medical device based on the identifier of the second medical device and an identifier of the first medical device; and enabling transmission and/or exchange of patient data between the first medical device and the second medical device via the wireless communication channel. Such communications with more than two devices may also be possible.

According to an embodiment of the present invention, a system comprises a removable interface module and wireless dock for an automated external defibrillator. The removable interface module includes a first processor, a first memory and first low-power radio transceiver communicatively coupled with the first processor and configured to receive status information from the automated external defibrillator. The removable interface module further includes a wireless power receiver and a rechargeable energy storage device electrically coupled with the wireless power receiver and configured to receive power wirelessly for the removable interface module. The wireless dock includes a second processor, a second memory and second low-power radio transceiver communicatively coupled with the second processor and configured to receive the status information from the removable interface module when the automated external defibrillator is powered off and transmit the status information through a networking interface. The wireless dock further comprises a wireless power transmitter.

A medical device for review of clinical data in a playback mode is described. The medical device includes at least one output device comprising at least one display screen, at least one memory, and at least one processor coupled to the at least one memory and the at least one output device, the at least one processor configured to receive signals indicative of patient data from one or more patient interface devices communicatively coupled to the medical device, control the at least one display screen to provide a first visual representation of the patient data as an operational interface, and selectively display a playback interface at the at least one display screen wherein the playback interface enables user interactive review of the patient data based on a second visual representation of the patient data.

A system including a medical device is provided. The medical device includes at least one sensor configured to acquire first data descriptive of a patient, first memory storing a plurality of templates, and at least one processor coupled to the at least one sensor and the first memory. The at least one processor is configured to identify a first template of the plurality of templates that is similar to the first data, to determine first difference data based on the first template and the first data, and to store the first difference data in association with the first template. The system may further include the programmable device.

Systems and methods of patient data compression

Medical devices can perform a plurality of functions, such as sensing, monitoring, deriving and/or calculating various physiological statuses of a patient (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, respiration rate, etc.). Medical devices can also be used to image part or all of a patient's body, to deliver a treatment, or to manage information related to a patient's care. The present disclosure is directed at one or more devices that perform these functions using a plurality of processing circuits, wherein each processing circuit has a timing circuit with a local clock. These processing circuits can be connected via a network, and each timing circuit can communicate with at least one other timing circuit in order to detect and correct time-differences between their local clocks. In this way, multiple processing circuits can be synchronized with each other to facilitate diagnosis or treatment of a patient's condition, or other aspects of a patient's care.
