Systems and methods of reducing power consumption associated with paging or cDRX mode are described. A wake-up receiver (WUR) wakes up from an idle mode or cDRX state. Whether a wake-up signal (WUS) has been received by the WUR is determined. The WUS is a low-complexity signal that is less complicated than a PDCCH or PDSCH and is repeated multiple times at resource elements as indicated in a configuration from an eNB. If received, a baseband transceiver wakes up for reception of a PDCCH for the UE in a PO when the UE is in the idle mode or a PDSCH for the UE when the UE is in the cDRX state.

Wake up signal for machine type communication and Narrowband-Internet-of-Things devices

A telecommunication network may operate to enable a wake up signals (WUSs) within the telecommunication network. A mobility management entity (MME) may estimate a coverage enhancement (CE) level of a user equipment (UE), determine, based on the CE level, a number of repetitions for a wake up signal (WUS) for the UE, and cause a WUS for UE to be transmitted to a radio access network (RAN) node corresponding to the UE. The RAN node may inform the MME that the RAN node has disabled the WUS feature, and may cause system information to be broadcast to UEs in IDLE mode, indicating that the WUS feature of the RAN node has been disabled. A UE may determine a paging occasion (PO) determine a maximum WUS duration, minimum offset, and start location of the WUS.

Wake up signaling in wireless telecommunication networks

This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to multi-user uplink channel sounding. A device may determine a channel sounding sequence with one or more access points (APs), wherein the channel sounding sequence comprises a null data packet announcement (NDPA) communicated with at least one of the one or more APs. The device may determine a first group of station devices (STAs) associated with a first basic service set (BSS). The device may cause to send a trigger frame to the first group of STAs to solicit an uplink NDP from each STA of the first group of STAs. The device may identify a first uplink NDP received from a first STA of the first group of STAs. The device may identify a second uplink NDP received from a second STA of a second group of STAs.

The computing device activates one or more components of the computing device, monitors platform activity, and measures wireless noise received by the antennas. The computing device trains a noise prediction model based on the platform activity and the measured noise. The computing device may monitor platform activity and predict a noise prediction with the noise prediction model based on the monitored activity. The computing device may mitigate wireless noise received by the wireless antennas based on the noise prediction. The computing device may provide the noise prediction to the wireless modem. A technology is described for determining a position of a HBC (Human Body Channel) sensor. An example method may include receiving signal data for a radio signal from a first transmitting HBC sensor transmitted over a human body channel. A signal loss of the radio signal can be calculated using the signal data received from the first transmitting HBC sensor, where the signal loss may be a function of distance of the first transmitting HBC sensor from a receiver. A distance of the first transmitting HBC sensor from the receiver can then be determined based in part on the signal loss and a relative position of the first transmitting HBC sensor can be identified based in part on the distance between the first transmitting HBC sensor and the receiver.

An apparatus may comprise a fixed device having a zone management module operative to perform mobility zone classification for multiple mobile devices in a mobile communications system. The zone management module operative assigns the mobile devices to different mobility zones based on a spectral characterization parameter for each mobile device. The spectral characterization parameter represents a type of operating environment for the mobile device. Techniques for high mobility communications

A cooperative cluster of wireless nodes exchange data before cooperatively communicating with a destination node over a MIMO channel. In a cooperative cluster of M nodes, each node shares 1/M of its own data with each of the other nodes, and keeps 1/M of its own data for transmission. Each node receives 1/M of data from each cooperative node. The data is merged at each cooperative node, and transmitted to the destination node.

A mesh network implements swarm intelligence for cooperative communication between nodes in the mesh network. An enhanced beamforming with interference nulling method is an improvement over prior art beamforming with interference nulling techniques. The enhanced method includes two scheduling schemes that allow all base stations to schedule their cell edge users independently and determine the information exchange among base stations over the backbone that is needed to support the scheduling activity. The method uses grouping information to perform distributed scheduling among base stations to schedule downlink transmission to cell edge users, while reducing interference to cell edge users served by neighboring base stations. The enhanced method demonstrates the base station-to-base station coordination and information exchange that is needed to enable independent base station scheduling of their cell edge users.

Enhanced scheduling techniques for wireless communication networks

Embodiments herein may operate at a cooperating relay station (CRS) in a wireless packet-carrying network (WPCN). A source-to-CRS (SC) link quality of an SC wireless channel may be estimated using signal quality information derived from a packet transmitted by a source station and received by the CRS. A CRS-to-destination (CD) link quality of a CD wireless channel may also be estimated using signal quality information derived from a packet transmitted by a destination station and received by the CRS. A source-to-destination (SD) link quality parameter representing SD link quality may be extracted by the CRS from the packet transmitted by the destination station. The CRS may decide whether to participate with the source station or with another CRS in transmitting an SD packet based upon the SC link quality, the CD link quality, the SD link quality, or a combination thereof.
