A medicament packaging assembly for installation in a medicament delivery device is disclosed. The packaging assembly comprises a cartridge having a medicament chamber, a sealing element for sealing a distal end of the medicament chamber, a sealing element release member, a cannula and a removable cap member. The assembly is switchable from a starting configuration in which the release member is spaced from the sealing element to an activated configuration in which the release member cooperates with the sealing element to connect the medicament chamber to the cannula. The packaging assembly further comprises a first chamber defined in part by the cap member and arranged for receiving the cannula such that at least a distal end of the cannula is sealed in the first chamber when the cap member is in place, and a second chamber defined in part by the sealing element and arranged for receiving the release member.

Medicament packaging assembly

A medicament delivery device is disclosed, comprising a cartridge assembly that comprises a cartridge having a medicament chamber for containing a medicament, a sealing element for sealing a distal end of the medicament chamber and a coupling element attached to the cartridge. The device also includes a sealing element release member, a cannula for delivery of the medicament, and a removable cap. The device is switchable from a starting configuration in which the release member is spaced from the sealing element to an activated configuration in which the release member cooperates with the sealing element to connect the medicament chamber to the cannula. A proximal end of the release member is sealed in a release member chamber defined in part by, the sealing element and in part by the coupling element.

Medicament delivery devices

A medicament delivery device () comprises a chassis (), a drive element () for driving a stopper () to expel the medicament through a cannula (). A carrier () is arranged for movement with respect to the chassis (). Insertion means () biases the carrier () in an insertion direction. A control part () is biased for rotation with respect to the carrier (). A locking element () prevents rotation of the control part () in an initial state. The locking element () is coupled to the drive element () such that the control part () is released for rotation when the drive element () reaches an activation position during a delivery stroke. Rotation of the control part () through a predetermined angle causes decoupling of the insertion means () from the carrier () to allow movement of the carrier () in a retraction direction after the end of the delivery stroke.

A cartridge () for packaging a medicament and being suitable for use with multiple different types of dosing device is described, together with dosing devices and adaptors for dosing devices. The cartridge includes a generally tubular body () having an interior cavity (), a closure member () disposed at a distal end of the body and comprising a sealing element (), a piston member () disposed in the cavity to contain the medicament between the piston member and the sealing element (), a coupling element () disposed at the distal end of the body for coupling the cartridge to a dosing device () or to an adaptor for a dosing device, and a seal arrangement () for receiving a sealing element release member () of the dosing device or adaptor. The coupling element () is arranged for engagement with an engagement part () of the dosing device or adaptor to clip the cartridge () to the dosing device or adaptor () upon insertion of the cartridge to the dosing device or adaptor, and the seal arrangement () is disposed distally with respect to the sealing element () and is arranged to form a seal around the release member () when the cartridge is coupled to the dosing device or adaptor.

Medicament packaging

An automatic injection device for delivering a dose from a medicine containing syringe includes a housing for containing the syringe, a force applicator for applying a force to eject medicine from the syringe, a trigger coupled to the force applicator for releasing the force applicator to cause an injection, a boot covering a needle attached to the syringe to protect and maintain sterility of the needle, and a mechanical interlock. The mechanical interlock prevents actuation of the trigger prior to removal of the boot. When the boot is removed, the mechanical interlock allows for actuation of the trigger.

Automatic injection device

A needle tip () for being connected and disconnected in use from a needle tip support (), comprises a needle () having a forward end and a rearward end and, a connector secured to the needle intermediate its ends. The connector comprises two arms () each extending outwardly and rearwardly relative to the needle () and configured to be coupled and uncoupled in use from said needle tip support, and the arms are disposed on opposite sides of the needle. Also disclosed are arrangements for storing, dispensing and later disposing such needle tips, as well as coupling interfaces between the needle tip and a needle support cap to which it is fitted in use.

Needle tip arrangements

Various needle tip storage and removal devices are disclosed which include a housing with a separate storage compartment and removal compartment for receiving a needle tip. The removal compartment is designed to hold securely a used needle tip. The removal compartment may have a one way snap engagement and/or a movable closure element.

Needle tip storage and removal device

A lancing device includes a lancet body () of elongate form and having a sharp tip () at the forward end thereof; a drive spring () for imparting generally longitudinal movement to the lancet body, and a housing () receiving the lancet body and having an aperture () in the forward end thereof through which the sharp tip () of the lancet body projects in use when the device is fired. The device includes elements () for controlling movement of the lancet body () to cause the tip of the lancet to execute a lateral movement when it projects from the aperture.

Lancing device

Skin stimulus arrangements are described for creating a stimulus in the skin in the vicinity of a treatment or wound site to alleviate the perception of pain. First and second textured surfaces are provided for making contact with the skin, with the surfaces being moved to create a stimulus which alleviates the perception of pain. The movement may be linear, rotary or a combination of both, and just a single textured surface may be provided.

An injection device includes a housingtocontaining a syringe. The contents of the syringeare viewable through a windowin the mid-sectionof the housing. The windowis concealed by a slideable shutter. The slideable shutteris biased by a bias springwhich also biases an internal syringe carrier. Also disclosed is a reversible needle cap which operates initially to cap the front end of the housing and, upon removal thereof, pulls a needle sheathoff the syringe needle. The cap is designed to be reversible so that, after use, it can be reversed and reconnected to the housing to cover the exposed needle.

Injection device

An injection device comprises a housing () to () containing a syringe (). The contents of the syringe () are viewable through a window () in the mid-section () of the housing. The window () is concealed by a slideable shutter (). The slideable shutter () is biased by a bias spring () which also biases an internal syringe carrier.
