The invention relates to radiation curable compositions comprising a liquid 0/s(acyl)phosphine photo initiators of formula (&#xcf;): wherein each of Ar, Arand Aris independently a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group. The invention also relates to stabilized forms of liquid bis(acyl)phosphines of formula (I) and radiation curable composition comprising said stabilized photoinitiators. The present invention relates to coated photonic crystal fibers including a photonic crystal fiber and a protective coating surrounding the photonic crystal fiber. The coating is obtained by curing a resin composition, which may include a urethane (meth)acrylate oligomer. The excellent stripping and adhesion behavior can be achieved by several means which include by use of additives, by use of radiation-curable oligomers having higher molecular weight, or by use of coatings having certain thermal properties. Combination of means can be employed. Stripping behavior can be measured by crack propagation and fiber friction measurements.
