A sensor is configured to receive an input associated with a human present in a physical space in which a device is deployed. A physical circuit path is configured to electrically couple an output signal generated by the sensor to a premises automation system processing component. A physical privacy switch is configured to have a first position and a second position, wherein the physical privacy switch connects the physical circuit path when in the first position and interrupts the physical circuit path when in the second position.

For each of a plurality of subsystems comprising a premises automation solution a corresponding current controlled state information is stored. Stored state information associated with the plurality of subsystems is used to generate and provide as output a recommendation to perform a recommended operation with respect to one or more of said subsystems.

A device, comprises a microphone and a communication interface configured to send to a premises automation control core audio input received via the microphone. Speech control for complex commands

A currently touched position on a capacitive touch interface is determined based at least in part on sensing a capacitance associated with the currently touched position along a geometric shape, wherein the capacitive touch interface comprises a touchable surface at least a portion of which defines the geometric shape. The currently touched position is mapped to a corresponding value of an attribute associated with a current context. The corresponding value of the attribute is used to operate an external system associated with the current context in a manner determined at least in part by the corresponding value of the attribute. A feedback associated with the determined currently touched position and the current context is provided via the capacitive touch interface.

A process and system for depicting a combination of process colors and spot colors on a radiant light source such as a computer monitor screen. The invention provides a user-definable 'meta-ink' color which is made up of the components of the process colors and the spot colors. Shade values are assigned to each of these components to create the meta-ink color. This meta-ink color then replaces the document color for visual depiction on the radiant light source. This process and system provides a more accurate depiction of the representation of the printed image.

Process and system for defining and visually depicting colors from the components of arbitrary color models

An application for managing digital assets regardless of type or format. The application allows assets to be check-in, either on an individual asset basis or on a group basis, and check-out. Information regarding assets is stored in a data-base to enable searching for the assets without searching the assets themselves. The user is provided features for organizing assets retrieved in accordance with supplied criteria and for performing actions on assets in a batch mode. Digital assets are retrieved from the storage servers by queries. The query results are displayed in a user-customizable Query Palette. User Views are provided to group references or icons representing selected assets to organize the references to the assets without affecting the organization of the assets themselves. Methods and processes are applied to optimize asset management across a distributed architecture by monitoring and balancing the load and usage of the server and the storage entities.
