A fluid dispensing device includes a cartridge comprising a housing and a head coupled to the housing. The housing forms a first chamber configured to accommodate a fluid; and the head includes a nozzle; and an elastomeric wall that is spaced from the nozzle to form a holding chamber. The holding chamber is in fluid communication with the first chamber and configured to accommodate a portion of the fluid; and the nozzle forms one or more openings to eject the portion of the fluid from the holding chamber. The one or more openings form an oblong shape such that a length of the oblong shape is greater than a width of the oblong shape. The one or more openings can include two parallel slots that together form the oblong shape.

In some examples, a sensor holder device is described. The sensor holder device may include a rigid body, a set legs attached to the rigid body, a sensor guiding structure, a sensor retaining structure, and an electrical trace. The sensor retaining structure may be sized to accommodate a sensor wire. The electrical trace may extend proximate the sensor retaining structure and along one of the legs.

According to one embodiment, an apparatus for optical heating of an eyelid of a patient includes: a housing configured to be grasped by a human hand; at least one light emitter coupled to the housing and configured to emit beams of infrared light; a waveguide component coupled to the at least one light emitter and configured to direct the beams of light toward the eyelid; and a scleral cover configured to couple to the housing, the scleral cover comprising: a curved protective portion configured to reflect infrared light emanating from the at least one light emitter.

A sensor cable support device is described. The sensor cable support device can be used to implemented in wearable monitoring device to support a proximal portion of a sensor cable and electrically connect the proximal portion with a sensing circuitry. A distal portion of the sensor cable is insertable into a person's skin. The sensor cable support device may include a rigid body defining a pair of openings, a set legs attached to the rigid body, and a pair of electrical traces extending between the pair of openings and distal ends of a pair of legs of the set of legs. The pair of openings may be sized and configured to receive a pair of pucks that mechanically retain a sensor cable to the body and electrically connect the sensor cable with the electrical traces.

A device is presented herein that is configured to be located underneath an eyelid and worn by a user for treating dry eye. The device includes a first surface configured to face a portion of a sclera of the eye, and a second surface configured to face an eyelid and to be completely covered by the eyelid. In some embodiments, the device further includes a plurality of stimulation electrodes proximal to the first surface, wherein the plurality of stimulation electrodes is configured to stimulate the sclera. The device further includes an energy storage element coupled to the plurality of stimulation electrodes. The energy storage element is configured to supply power to the plurality of stimulation electrodes. The device further includes a processor configured to control a supply of energy from the energy storage element to the plurality of stimulation electrodes to stimulate the sclera.

Therapeutic devices for placement underneath the eyelid and associated systems, devices, and methods for dry eye treatment

A fluid dispensing device includes a light source, and a nozzle spaced from the light source. The device also includes a membrane positioned within a beam path of the light source, where the membrane is configured to allow a portion of light from the light source through to the nozzle. The device also includes a fluid chamber positioned between the membrane and the nozzle, where the nozzle is configured to allow a beam of the portion of light to pass through along the beam path, and where the nozzle is further configured to form a stream of fluid expelled from the fluid chamber along the beam path.

In some aspects, an apparatus for a biosensor includes a sensor wire and a rigid member. The rigid member may be coupled to the sensor wire and include a contact surface. The contact surface may be sized to enable a suction head of a robotic placement device to create a vacuum seal on the contact surface for lifting the sensor wire and rigid member.

A system and method are provided for implementing a unique scheme by which to execute digital vapor phase patterning on metals, semiconductor substrates and other surfaces using a proposed variable data digital lithographic image forming architecture or technique. For certain substrate printing and manufacturing applications, including some printed electronics applications, the disclosed schemes implement techniques to digitally pattern metal layers with bulk material properties in a manner that is aligned with underlying layers on the fly. The disclosed digital printing process may pattern a release oil on a substrate in support of a metal deposition process. Changeable patterning is implemented with an ability to modify the alignment of the patterns on-the-fly. The release layer on a drum is laser patterned in order that the patterned release layer is transferred to the substrate, or the patterning of the release layer is accomplished directly on the substrate.

Systems and methods for implementing digital vapor phase patterning using variable data digital lithographic printing techniques

An ejector device that includes one or more ejectors comprises an ejector layer that spans at least one hollow area. The ejector layer has a first surface and an opposing second surface arranged to receive a viscous material with viscosity between 20 and 50,000 centipoise. The ejector layer includes a radiation absorber material configured to thermally expand without phase transition in response to heating by activation radiation transmitted to the first surface. Thermal expansion of the ejector layer causes displacement of the ejector layer and ejection of the material from the second surface of the ejector layer.

According to some aspects, a device is presented herein that is configured to be located underneath an eyelid and worn by a user for treating dry eye. In some embodiments, the device further includes a plurality of stimulation electrodes proximal to the first surface, wherein the plurality of stimulation electrodes is configured to stimulate the sclera. The device further includes a processor configured to control a supply of energy from the energy storage element to the plurality of stimulation electrodes to stimulate the sclera.
