Thermoplastic bicomponent binder fiber can be combined with other media, fibers and other filtration components to form a thermally bonded filtration media. The filtration media can be used in filter units, such as breather caps. Such filter units can be placed in the stream of a mobile fluid and can remove a particulate and/or fluid mist load from the mobile stream. The unique combination of media fiber, bicomponent binder fiber and other filtration additives and components provide a filtration media having unique properties in filtration applications.

Filter medium and breather filter structure

Thermoplastic bicomponent binder fiber can be combined with other media, fibers and other filtration components to form a thermally bonded filtration media. The filtration media can be used in filter units. Such filter units can be placed in the stream of a mobile fluid and can remove a particulate load from the mobile stream. The unique combination of media fiber, bicomponent binder fiber and other filtration additives and components provide a filtration media having unique properties in filtration applications.

Filter medium and structure

A filter element includes a single seamless media pack having first and second opposite ends and first and second lateral sides extending between the first and second ends. The media pack also has pleats extending between the first and second ends and a first cross-section defined between the first and second lateral sides. The first cross-section having at least one outward projection that defines an internal radius of at least &#xbc; inch wherein a plurality of pleats of the media pack are fanned around the internal radius. A first end cap is secured to the first end of the media pack while a second end cap secured to the second end of the media pack. Additionally, a frame member is secured to the first end cap, second end cap, the first lateral side, and the second lateral side. A pre-filter is usable with described filter arrangements.

Filter arrangement and methods

The filter of the invention is a cartridge filter comprising a structure that can maintain a filter medium in an air stream to filter particulates to protect a gas turbine power system. The filter combines a mechanically adequate filter structure and an effective filter medium for to obtain a useful system.

Filter construction for use with air in-take for gas turbine and methods

A method for cleaning a filter having Z-media includes providing a filter having Z-media and cleaning the media construction by directing a pulse of compressed gas into the media construction through the downstream flow face. Filter elements useable with such methods include elements made of Z-media. An example system utilizing the method includes a gas turbine air intake system.

Z-filter media with reverse-flow cleaning systems and methods

A device and method for cleaning a filter element. The device including a valve interconnected to a blowpipe. A nozzle is positioned at an end of the blowpipe and to direct a pulse of compressed gas into the filter element. The nozzle includes a body and a diffuser arrangement configured to direct multiple jest of the compressed gas into the filter element. The valve is arranged to provide access to each of the valve components from one side of a compressed air manifold.
