Adapters are provided for use with a beverage dispenser. The adapter can include an adapter base, first and second fluid ports disposed on the base, and at least one anchor to secure the adapter base to a beverage dispenser. The first fluid port can receive a first fluid from a first direction therethrough, and the second fluid port can receive a second fluid from a second direction therethrough.

Containers are provided for use with a beverage dispensing device. The container can include a housing defining a hollow interior and having an inlet leading to the hollow interior therein, an outlet disposed on the housing and leading to the hollow interior, a tube extending from the inlet and through the hollow interior toward a wall of the housing opposite the inlet, and a valve disposed in the outlet.

Containers are provided for use with a beverage dispensing device. The container can include a housing defining a hollow interior and having an opening leading to the hollow interior, a cover coupled disposed over the opening, an inlet leading to the hollow interior, and an outlet spaced apart from the interior. The inlet and outlet can each have valves movable between open and closed positions for allowing fluid flow into and out of the hollow interior.

An aerosol dispenser comprising a pressurised aerosol can and a closure comprising an aerosol valve held within a retention chassis, the retention chassis being associated with a flexible sealing collar designed to radially surround the retention chassis and to seal against the edge of an opening in the aerosol can, wherein the retention chassis is axially moveable relative to the sealing collar and wherein the sealing collar is of outer diameter greater than the inner diameter of the opening in the aerosol can and is sufficiently flexible to flex through the opening in the aerosol can when the retention chassis is in a first axial position relative to the sealing collar and wherein the sealing collar is firmly held against the edge of the opening in the aerosol can when the retention chassis is in a second axial position relative to the sealing collar.

A control method and apparatus for a door-locking mechanism which includes an electrically-released latch, to lock the door closed. A processing unit sources first and second data streams each of a repeating string of binary data, the two strings being of the same bit length and bit rate, the processing unit also having two sensing inputs. A normally-open first switch is associated with the latch and connects the first data stream to the first sensing input other than when the latch is released, and a normally-open second switch is associated with the door and serves to connect the second data stream to the second sensing input so long as the door remains closed. A normally-closed third switch is also associated with the door and serves to link together the first and second sensing inputs when the door is not closed. The processing unit outputs a signal indicative of an error condition should the data stream which appears at either sensing input not be the expected stream.

An interlock unit () for use with at least one other like unit () to form an interlock mechanism has a top face () and opposed pairs of side walls () with at least one runner bar () mounted in the unit for lateral sliding movement. An actuator () is supported on the top face (), to effect lateral sliding movement of the runner bar (). One wall of the unit is provided with one part () of a two-part connector with the other part () on the opposed wall whereby two similar units may be joined together by relative sliding movement of the two units in the plane of the side walls (). Joining together of two units () in this way also joins together the runner bars () or () of the two units such that sliding motion of the runner bar () of one unit () is transferred to the runner bar () of the connected unit (), for at least one direction of sliding movement of the runner bars ().

Interlock mechanisms

A franking machine includes a printer for impressing postal franks on articles such as letters. The machine further includes a weighing pan coupled to a load cell, a microprocessor operative to respond to the output of the load cell for controlling the operation of the printer, and a keyboard whereby the scale of charges appropriate to an article to be weighed and franked can be entered by the user, the arrangement being such that an article can be weighed, the appropriate value of postal charges calculated by the microprocessor and subsequently franked in the same machine.
