Fluid coupling devices can be used to provide fluid passage connections in fluid systems. Some fluid coupling devices are configured for use in fluid systems for the purpose of providing a sterile connection by which fluid can be transferred in a sterile manner. Such a sterile connection can be useful for the delivery and/or processing of therapeutic agents, or ingredients thereof, and other purposes.

Fluid couplings

Some fluid coupling devices described herein are configured for use in fluid systems for purposes of providing a single-use, disconnection functionality that can substantially limit fluid spillage when being disconnected. In some embodiments, the coupling portions cannot be functionally reconnected to each other after being disconnected from each other.

Single-use disconnect fluid couplings

This document describes fluid handling couplings. For example, this document describes fluid handling couplings that include manually openable valves and that are configured for aseptic fluid handling usage. In some embodiments, the valves are manually openable by rotation of a collar of the fluid handling couplings.

Fluid coupling devices can be configured for use in fluid systems for purposes of providing a single-use, aseptic disconnection functionality that can substantially limit fluid spillage when being disconnected. In some embodiments, the coupling portions cannot be functionally reconnected to each other after being disconnected from each other. The coupling portions can be identical to each other in some embodiments. A retainer component of the fluid coupling devices can be removably engaged with the coupling portions while the coupling portions are abutted against each other in an operative arrangement.

This document describes fluid coupling devices for fluid systems and methods of using the fluid coupling devices. Some fluid coupling devices described herein are configured for use in fluid systems for the purpose of providing a sterile connection. Such a sterile connection can be useful for the delivery and/or processing of therapeutic agents, or ingredients thereof, and other purposes.
