A modular electric power distribution system transmits power between a power source and control modules for power consumers. The system includes a power distribution unit mounted on each module and bridge assemblies which connect adjacent distribution units.

Electric power distribution unit

An electrical connector has a plastic body and a blade contact in a terminal cavity in the body. A guard extends across the mouth of the cavity over an adjacent edge of the blade. A physical interlock connection holds the guard on the blade edge to shield the blade and prevent an object inserted into the mouth from contacting the blade.

Modular electric power distribution system

An assembly for forming two bridge connections between two contact members has two bridge conductors and two U-shaped spring clips which hold contact arms at the ends of the bridge conductors against contact members to form two separate electrical connections between the contact members. An insulating housing surrounds the conductors and clips.

A protective plug assembly for use with a Universal Serial Bus (USB) connector. The plug assembly is installed over a terminated USB connector and provides additional shielding for the USB connector, thereby allowing the USB connector to be used in military, aerospace, industrial or other applications in which signal degradation is a concern. The plug assembly is easily installed in the field, as the plug adapter assembly may be preassembled during manufacture. The plug assembly also provides sealing for the USB connector which allows the USB connector to be used in environmental conditions which are not conducive to the longevity of an unprotected connector.

Sealed plug assembly

An enhanced memory module assembly comprises a memory module including a substrate with a plurality of conductive traces arranged in an edge thereof. A first connector is detachably and electrically assembled to the edge of the substrate and includes a first housing having an elongate slot extending along a longitudinal direction thereof. The housing further defines a plurality of terminal cell with a plurality of first terminals assembled therein. Each terminal includes a first end extending into the elongate slot for electrically contacting with the conductive traces, and second end. A second connector is electrically connected to the first connector and includes a second housing. The first and second terminals are electrically connected when the first and second connectors are mated.

Enhanced memory module assembly

A contact ( ) for use with an electrical connector ( ) for interconnecting a daughter board ( ) and a mother board ( ) in a mutually perpendicular relation, comprises a body portion ( ) having an upper arm ( ) and a lower arm ( ). The upper arm extends in a first direction which is generally parallel to an axial direction of the body portion and the daughter board. The curved edge works in a plane that is mutually perpendicular to the first and second directions, facing the first direction. The contact has a body portion from which the upper and lower arms extend. The lower arm has a curved portion ( ) which connects and offsets from the body portion. The curved portion moves in the third direction, facing the first direction.

Contact for electrical connector

A male connector ( ) includes first and second individual housing portions ( ) engaging with each other, a number of printed substrates ( ) held by the first housing portion and a number of signal contacts ( ) and a number of grounding terminals ( ) held by the second housing portion with the signal contacts confronting the grounding terminals. Each printed substrate has a first edge ( ) and a second edge ( ) orthogonal with the first edge. The first edges of the printed substrates are hidden behind corresponding lead-in bars ( ) of the first housing portion and the second edges of the printed substrates are sandwiched between and floatingly held by the signal contacts and the grounding terminals. The second edges are pushed toward the signal contacts because the grounding terminals are somewhat stronger than the signal contacts. A female connector ( ) mateable with the male connector includes a dielectric member ( ) and a number of signal contacts ( ) and a number of grounding terminals ( ) retained in the dielectric member in face-to-face relationship. An electrical connector ( ) comprises a dielectric housing consisting of a first housing ( ) and a second housing ( ), a spacer ( ) assembled at a bottom of the housing and a plurality of circuit boards ( ). The housing defines a plurality of parallel channels ( ) extending in a mating direction of the electrical connector.
