An intraocular lens utilizing an optical portion and having at least one appendage with a first end portion connected to the optical portion. A second end portion of the appendage is intended for contacting the periphery of the eye. The terminus of the second end portion of the appendage includes a spacer which is positioned between the terminus of the appendage and the iris. An intermediate portion of the appendage connects the first and second end portions of the appendage.

Intraocular lens with iris spacer mechanism

An intraocular lens utilizing an optical portion and having at least one appendage connected to the same at the first end portion. The appendage includes a second end portion which is intended for contacting the anatomy of the eye. The appendage also includes an intermediate portion between the first and second end portions which is provided with a substantially closed loop to aid in manipulation of the appendage.

Intraocular lens with appendage manipulation loop

An intraocular lens which is vaulted from contact with the iris utilizing an optical portion having an optical plane. The optical lens is positioned in the eye by connecting a first relatively rigid member to the optical portion. A first member attached to the optical portion and oriented away from the optical plane second part is connected to the first part and orients toward the optical plane in relation to the first part. A second relatively flexible member connects to the second part of the first member to form an appendage unit.

Vaulted intraocular lens

An intraocular lens having an optical portion with at least one appendage associated with the same. The appendage includes a first portion and a connected second portion. The first portion of the appendage rotates in relation to the optical portion upon the application of an actuating force on the second portion of the appendage.
