An inflation device includes a syringe body containing a bore. The bore holds a fluid that is used to inflate a separate device such as a dilation balloon. A plunger assembly slides within the syringe bore and contains a sealing member that forms a fluid tight seal with the syringe body. A shut-off valve is disposed within the distal end of the syringe body. The distal end of the syringe body has a fluid bypass channel fluidically coupled to the aperture of a connector. The shut-off valve has a spring-biased moveable piston with a bypass lumen contained therein, wherein the bypass lumen forms a fluid path between the bore and the fluid bypass channel when the pressure of the fluid is below a threshold value. The fluid path between the bore and the fluid bypass channel is interrupted when the pressure of the fluid is above the threshold value.

Balloon catheter inflation apparatus and methods

An endoscope includes a substantially rigid shaft having a distal end and a proximal portion, the shaft having a first lumen and a second lumen separate from the first lumen, the second lumen containing one or more objective lenses disposed at the distal end thereof. A housing is mounted on the proximal portion of the shaft, the housing including an eyepiece mount and a light input port. An image fiber bundle is disposed in the second lumen, the image fiber bundle extending proximally from adjacent the one or more objective lenses to the eyepiece mount. An illumination fiber bundle is disposed in the second lumen, the illumination fiber bundle extending proximally from the distal end of the shaft to the light input port.

A balloon catheter may be used to access side branch arteries such as the iliac artery. The catheter includes a guidewire configured to carry a balloon and deploy directly in a branch leg without traversing acute bends.

Iliac bifurcation balloon catheter

A catheter comprises an elongate tubular member having a proximal end and a distal end, and a deflectable tip at the distal end of the elongate tubular member. The deflectable tip comprises a first helical coil having a first diameter and a second helical coil having a second diameter, the first diameter being larger than the second diameter. The first and second helical coils are arranged in the manner of a double helix. When viewed in cross-section, the first helical coil and the second helical coil are aligned at a first point on a circumference of each coil and misaligned at a second point on the circumference of each coil, where the second point is approximately 180 degrees from the first point. In certain embodiments the catheter further includes a dilatation balloon. Methods of use for crossing a chronic total occlusion are also described.

Devices and methods for crossing a chronic total occlusion

A prosthetic graft for use with a graft system is used to repair the treatment of aortic aneurysms which extend into at least one common iliac artery and do not have a suitable region for seating a stent or other attachment device. The graft is designed to be used in combination with a graft system having legs extending into the common iliac arteries and provides the graft system with a place to securely seat its iliac legs without blocking the internal iliac artery.

Small compression type injection site in the form of a self-sealing septum-like member that is self-sealing for hypodermic needle punctures and the like and a method of manufacture. Compressive stresses are introduced into a stretched elastomeric rod, whereby the decreased diameter cross section is maintained by placing a wrapping around and about the stretched rod and adhesively sealing it thereto. Sliced cross-sectional pieces of the rod then provide injection sites to be incorporated into the wall of an implantable prosthesis as by bonding or the like.

Method for manufacturing improved self-sealing injection sites and plugs

A method and apparatus comprising placing a visual indicator such as a stripe or series of markings on the tubing connecting the various components of a penile prosthesis to evidence the proper linear alignment of the tubing, and counter-rotating those components prior to or during implantation to achieve or maintain proper alignment of the components and thus prevent or remove any torque on the tubing that would cause tears or separations at the junction points. A tactile indicator may be used in addition to or in place of the visual indicator.
